Toni goes to the cashier..

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Toni was in the BB, with 106 off suit, he got one limper, the flop came out 9 high with three spades. Toni checked, his opponent bet 15.000 and Toni check-raises all in, and his opponent calls. He shows J-9 for top pair, but Toni has the ten of spades, so all the tens and spades would give him the pot. 7 of hearts on the turn….. 2 of hearts on the river and no help for Toni.

Toni went to the cashier to pick his 10.800 euro, which he wasn’t to happy with. Not me either to be honest..

Good Game Toni, no final table this time, but we hope for it in Copenhagen instead!

Up and down…

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Toni has played three hands so far today, the first two, he raised, and got a re raise and folded. Then he was down to about 70.000 in chips.

The third hand, got played out so that the chip leader at the table raised 13.000, and Toni moved all-in. Then the Big Blind went into the tank and was thinking about calling, but in the end he folded his pocket 5’s. Also the first raiser folded his hand, and this took Toni up to about 87.000 in chips.

More reports soon..

Few words from Toni before the tournament start..

Toni, poring out all his 103.000 on the table...

Toni, poring out all his 103.000 on the table...

Toni came up to me on the stage, who has been turned into a huge press room during the tournament. He looked as calm as always, and his words also proved that he was. He had a good night sleep, only thing he was worried about was that his room mate was very sick, he is also still in the tournament, so that hotel room must be on fire, hopefully only in poker..

He looked at the final table that right now is getting prepared for tomorrows play, and he said, “can you see that seat there? That is my seat!”

So now you know all my dear readers, Toni is going to be dangerous today! And now day 3 started!

Christian played beautiful poker..

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Day 4 was the day when everybody got up the eyes for a young German, his name is Heich, Christian Heich. He was playing so good poker, so that even the Aussie guys started rooting for him, he made some dangerous plays, who all worked out well.

Christian Heich - 14th place (AU$65.000)

Christian Heich - 14th place (AU$65.000)

They were down to 15 people when Christian got dealt 10-10, he raised to 40.000 and got one caller. The flop was good for Christian, 2-8-6 with two hearts, Heich raised 60.000, got re-raised to 130.000, Heich decides to re-re raise to 245.000 and then Stewart Scott went all in, and got a call. Christian shows his pocket 10’s, and Stewart his 9-10 of hearts for both a flushdraw, and a straight draw. On the turn the killing card 2 of hearts made it impossible for Christian to take the pot.

He went out on 14th position, AU$65.000 richer. Right now I am sure he is not happy with it, but the whole pokerworld now knows who Mr. Heich is, and he is definitely a guy for the future!

Don’t forget that soon will day 3 of EPT Deauville by Pokerstars.net begin! We have Toni Ojala with 103.000 in chips. We will also follow Ivo Donev with 56.500 in chips. They are both already in the money, now we will just count in the money and final table!

Stay tuned, because in a couple of minutes it begins! And again congratulations to Christian Heich!

Christians journey so far at day 4..

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Christian has been up and down today in day 4, for a while he was n the exclusive million club, where only people with over 1.000.000 in chips can join. He has now dropped down to around 600.000 in chips, this still means that he still has a big chance of moving on to day 5 and the final table…

There are now 19 players left, and we are today playing down to the final 7 players..

Good Luck Christian!

Benjamin Schaub - Great time in Deauville with an unfortunate end

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

That’s basically the conclusion of my trip. On Tuesday, the day off, I decided to visit Omaha
Beach. Omaha Beach was the code name for one of the main landing points of the Allied invasion of German-occupied France. It’s a really interesting and impressive landscape out there. Afterwards I went to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial. It’s a World War II cemetery and memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer, that honors American soldiers who died in Europe during World War II.

On Wednesday, Day 1B, I went to the casino just to see that I was seated on the featured table, sitting between Dario Mineri and Søren Kongsgaard. So my chances of being the aggressor were small. I started out playing pretty tight but extremly aggressive pre - and postflop. There were some small pots against Mineri but I took them down preflop by reraising him. The first real hand I opened was J10s from Middle Position. A French player called and we saw a flop of J10A. He reraised my bet and I had to surrender to a huge bet on the turn when a possible flush appeared.

The last hand before the break was very unlucky. A not so feared french player opened in Middle Position, Mineri called on the button, so did I from the big blind wit 109o.
The Flop came Q92, I checked, the preflop aggressor lead out and Mineri folded. I called hist bet in order to see what he does on the turn. On the turn there came a 9, so basically had trips. I check-raised him all-in and I was drawing pretty thin, actually he flopped a set of Queens and turned the nut Full-house. So i was crippled to something about 5k of chips with an average of 11k.
A few hands after the break I started out reraising some players and built my stack to something between 8-9k. Then I got dealt the magic aces. A player in early position raised five times the big blinds, so while sitting behind this player in an early position also, I just smooth called to induce some later action. Unfortunately that didn’t happen, the player in the small blinds called as well, so we went three handed to a flop of 47J all of clubs.
Both players checked and I bet but got raised from the small blind. The problem was, that I had red aces, because with the ace of clubs there wouldn’t have been that many worries. So I tanked for a minute and put the guy in the small blind on something like QJ,KJ or AJ with one club and shoved all-in. He called me pretty fast and tabled QJ with the queen of clubs, so we were playing a 19k pot while average was at 11k. The turn paired the 4, so I had his two pair outs killed, but he made his flush on the river and busted me.

It was really a great time in France and I’m really excited to play the EPT in Dortmund now
that I’ve made my first experiences. Right now I’m wishing the best of luck to my buddy Christian Heich, who’s still playing the Aussie Million Main Event. GOGOGO

Toni goes through to day 3…

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

We have 47 players left, when the clock is stopped for day 2. One of them is our Finnish champion, Toni Ojala. He has played very good poker today, without any major mistakes, and this has taken him up to the level of 103.000 in chips. For this he is guaranteed some money, he will at least get €7.200 for this tournament, but we all hope for more!

We also have Ivo Donev, who has tried the RedKings shirt a little bit today, he is going on to day 3 with 56.000 chips.

Tomorrow will probably be the most interesting day in Team RedKings history, we have Christian Heich as the 2nd in chips in the Main Event of Aussie Millions, and with a chance to win AU$2.000.000! We have Toni Ojala, who is in a good position for tomorrows play in the EPT Deauville by pokerstars.net, and there we also will find Ivo Donev in a RedKings shirt.

This means here will be more action than ever before, we will get you all info you can think of about Christian Heich, Toni Ojala and Ivo Donev!

105.000 after aggresive play.

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Toni goes up to 105.000, after raising pre flop, gets a re raise, and Toni is not afraid of putting his chips in the pot and simply as that he moves all in. The french opponent don’t have the guts to call the superstar.

Toni Ojala 105.000.

31 minutes left of this 2nd day, looks like we will have a interesting day 3 as well!

Two RedKings players in the money..

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

Ivo Donev - WSOP Bracelet winner

Ivo Donev - WSOP Bracelet winner

We all know about Toni, he is in the money with his steady chip stack at 90.000, with 60 players left. We also have Ivo Donev, the WSOP bracelet winner, chess master and poker trainer in the money. He has a stack of around 50.000, and he might be the most clever guy on the tour. He is one of the worlds best chess players, and then you must know a bit about statistics and strategy, perfect for poker!

Maybe we will have a RedKings heads up at the final table?

The updates are going to come even more often, so just keep destroying that F5 button!
