Sylvain Lanternier

Sylvain Lanternier

Bonjour,

RedKings says goodbye from Copenhagen..

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

And what a journey it has been. We had a record field of RedKings players at the start, traveling here from all over the world. Out of the magic 6, 4 made it through to the second day all with a hope and a big chance of getting to the top 40 players who got money, some with even higher expectations.

Molle - Born pokerplayer

Molle - Born pokerplayer

Joao Gabriel Fernandes got completely card dead on the second day, which made it hard for him to get to the end of the day. He finished around 70th position, and that is a great success for his first EPT tournament. Our Swedish pro player Jonas “Molle” Molander was next guy to leave the tournament, when he made a move on the player that now is on the final table top 4, J. Nevanlinna.

Then we had 2 players left, Ramzi Jelassi and Toni Ojala. Toni making his second cash in a row, and 3rd for the season, look at those stats 3/7 this year, that is sick. Now we are just waiting for the big one. Too bad for Toni that he was the first player to leave to the rail on day 3, about €9000 richer. Ramzi were in for a long time until he got a bad beat on the featured table, and Ramzi left in 20th position with €16000 in his pocket.

Ivo Donev - Happy with his choice

Ivo Donev - Happy with his choice

Team RedKings is growing, and so is our reputation. The team is now one of the biggest on the tour, and this week we have added three players to Team RedKings, Ivo “The Chessmaster” Donev, Christian Heich and Per Linde. Now with the White Label EU-License, Team RedKings and also with a lot of bad players online (fish), more and more players are choosing to start or continue their poker carriers at RedKings.com. You will always be able to follow the Teams progress here in the blog, and also their own thoughts about the tournaments and their life in their own blogs!

Note: The winners of yesterdays Quiz will be presented on Monday here in the blog! 10 players are going to win $30!

No luck..

Ramzi was pretty shortstacked after the A-10 hand and he needed to do something. He got a chance when Jonas Klausen raised up in late position, and Ramzi decided to go all-in. Jonas made the call with 9-10s, Ramzi showed KQ.

It was so exciting so I didn’t even dare to look, the flop looked promising with KQ9 and two pair for our King. Then I hear a “ohhhhh” from the crowd and I can see that another 9 has come up on the turn which gives Jonas trip 9s. Now Ramzi needs a K or Q to survive. Just to show that the poker gods hate Ramzi they give Mr. Klausen a 10, and a full house.

Ramzi is out, he played very good poker as usual and this time he got $21.282 for his 19th position.

So to sum up Pokerstars.com EPT Copenhagen, we had two RedKings players in the money, Ramzi Jelassi and Toni Ojala. Must say it is a big success and it is going to be hard to beat in Dortmund, but we are going to give it a try!

See you all in dortmund!

Ramzi wants to get the shortstacks out..

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Ramzi just called an all-in of a shortstack with 105.000, almost half of Ramzis stack. His opponent showed 10-10, and Ramzi turned over A-10.

The flop comes out x78, no help. The turn shows an 6 that gives Ramzi a few more outs, he must have a A or 9 on the river to take home the pot. A ugly Jack comes and this time no help on the river, and Ramzi goes down to 120.000 in chips.

Now 23 players in, with an average chip stack of 200.000. Good Luck Ramzi!

It is just getting easier and easier to get the correct answer on the quiz. Check it out to the right and win $150! Everything you need is a RedKings account, if you don’t have an account yet, make it here

24 players left, and Ramzi has found his position..

Mr. Featured

Mr. Featured

Ramzi has now moved to another table, the one with all the lights and the cameras, the featured table! He looks comfortable at this position, almost so comfortable so that he wants to be there tomorrow as well. If you didn’t get it, this is where the final table is going to be played tomorrow.

Ramzi has about 240.000 in chips, and so far on the featured table he has just been buying some blinds. Ramzi “RedKing” Jelassi is going to be dangerous, just as I said from day 1.

Chips disappears?

Friday, February 20th, 2009

They just exchanged all the 100 chips, which Ramzi had a lot of, so Ramzi let the staff do it for him and he went away for a coffee. When Ramzi gets back he feels that he is missing 10.000 in chips, so he wants them to check the cameras. Now they should have stopped the play, but they keep it going and Ramzi has to play “shortstacked” without his 10.000. It takes about half an hour until he gets his chips back, and Ramzi was right as always.

He is playing a lot of pots against Peter “Nalle” Hedlund, first Nalle raised, Ramzi chipped in everything and Nalle folded. A few hands after that Ramzi raises 12.000, Nalle calls and the flop comes out 10-2-6, Ramzi bets out 12.000 and Nalle instafolds. Ramzi is not happy with this, and shows two 6s for a flopped set.

Now when there was re-draw for the tables he takes his time to count his chips and says:
- I better do this all the time from now, so my chips stay with me.

His chipcount is 230.000 and there is 24 players left, it just looks better and better for Mr. Jelassi.

Ramzi, Ramzi, Ramzi!

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Ramzi Jelassi - 195.000, nice building?

Ramzi Jelassi - 195.000, nice building?

Ramzi is very liked by the crowd, he is a entertainer with a head full of poker. His table is very fun to watch at, especially when you are a Swede, because the Swede Peter “Nalle” Hedlund is also a entertainer and there are a lot of talking going on..

Ramzi just won a pretty big hand, where Ramzi first raised got a re-raiser but that didn’t scare him because Ramzi put all his money into the pot and his opponent folded. Now he’s got about 195.000 with 29 players left and a average stack of 157.000.

All players just went on a 15 minutes break, next level it’s going to be really expensive to play poker when the blinds goes up to 2.500/5000 and an ante of 500.

Ramzis table, Scandinavian fight..

Friday, February 20th, 2009

Here are the players Ramzi is fighting against at the moment:
Jens “Jeans” Kyllönen Finland
Erik Karlsson Sweden
Aleksander Strandli Norway
Gert Andersen Denmark

It’s a big scandinavian war out there!
