51.000 into the pot. The turn comes to the first raiser who starts to think about it, and after a while makes the call.

Molle, A8
Opponent, AJ

Flop: No help
Turn: No help
River:………..NO HELP, and we lost one of the best tournaments player left in the tournament. Molle finished around 60th position, it looked really good for a while, but he didn’t have that last luck you have to get. Now he will go home to Sweden and Lund to charge his pokerbrain for Germany and Dortmund, more from Molle then!

RedKings like each other..

Who looks to be the happiest? Mr. Big Stack?

Who looks to be the happiest? Mr. Big Stack?

Again it has happened, two RedKings players at the same table, this time it is Ramzi “Big Stack” Jelassi and Toni “Trying to get a big stack” Ojala who is competing. Toni said that he would go all-in with pretty much any Ace or pocket pair, on his new table there was a raiser to 6000, Toni put his whole chip stack in the middle (20.000). The Swedish opponent went into the tank, and after a while he folded, this takes Toni up to 28.000 and a decent stack again.

Ramzi, 120.000
Molle, 55.000

Good news and Bad news..

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Good or bad first? I’ll go with the good.

The Good news is that we have three RedKings players still in the tournament, with only 77 players left in total. Yeah, it is correct only three now, before this post we had four so that is going to be the bad news.

Joao Gabriel Fernandes - A great poker player

Joao Gabriel Fernandes - A great poker player

Joao Gabriel Fernandes has played marvelous poker this 2 days, and today he has been completely card dead. In the start he was going around the chipstack he had from the beginning of the day then he started to get down just because of bad hands and high blinds. When he got dealt A6, he was happy because it was the best he had seen in four hours, and he put all his chips in the pot (12.300). The player to his right says call and flips up A7, with the flop 10710, his hope pretty much goes away. With an K on the turn he has the chance to get a split pot with a K or an A… River 6, and Joao is leaving the table unhappy, but he should be proud over his poker he played.

So, 77 players left, 3 of them is RedKings players:
Ramzi Jelassi, 110.000
Jonas “Molle” Molander 55.000 (raised 3k with AQ, guy shoveled in with 11.000, Molle calls and opponent shows A6) 6 comes on the board, and stabs Molle in the back. No Q and Molle loses the 24k pot.
Toni Ojala, 28.000

Ramzi - Counting the chips after his huge pot

Ramzi - Counting the chips after his huge pot

One player raises 4k, another big chip stack re raises to 12k, Ramzi decides to put all his chips into the pot, which means about 48k. First player folds (JJ), second players wants it to be counted and then goes into the tank and CALLS, he shows QQ and Ramzi got AK, we have the famous coinflip in front of us. Ramzi’s tournament life is on the line, after the flop with 673 all the “railbirds” starts to mumble and even more on the bad turn of a J. Now he needs an A or K to get this huge pot, the dealer waits a little until she flips up………….K! The crowd gets happy again, and everything is back in order.

Ramzi now has 105.000, and a Ramzi with this kind of stack is really to count on, watch out…

Some Ramzi action..

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Ramzi - The Entertainer

Ramzi - The Entertainer

Ramzi Jelassi is now challenging both Toni and Molle in chip stacks, he had about 50.000 in chips when this hand played out:

Ramzi raises 3.000 pre-flop, gets one call, flop comes out Kc7h10h. Ramzi bets out 4.000, his opponent puts all his chips in the middle which is worth about 70.000. Ramzi says:
-If I call this pot is going to be over 100k, pretty sick.
He thinks a bit, but then decides to fold. He tells his opponent that he had a flush draw, but you can never know with Ramzi…

Molle, 72.000

Toni, 42.000, he doubled his fellow Finn Jaakko Lauttamus up. Toni had 1010, and Jaako had QQ, no help for Toni.

Joao Gabriel Fernandes, 20.000

Chipcounts, good ones…

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Jonas “Molle” Molander is still going strong, now up to 70.000

Ramzi Jelassi increases his chip stack every time I walk by his table, now 37.000

Toni Ojala, 58.000, now sits next too 2 finnish players and one of last years Swedish Champions (Yes, there are plenty of them), Ola Brandborn.

Joao Gabriel Fernandes, is stable on the stack he has got all day, around 27.000

Going like the train…

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

I think the Team must have eaten some nice pills or found some good drinks, or they just are very good poker players, you choose..

Molle - Happy with his chip stack

Molle - Happy with his chip stack

Molle has been involved in many hands the latest 30 minutes, one in particular. Molle raised pre flop to about 3000, got a caller from a unidentified girl from Denmark. The flop comes out 852, two clubs. Molle bets out 3700, the danish girl re-raises to 9500. Molle thinks for a while and makes the call, the turn comes out K of clubs, Molle checks, opponent checks. River shows a boring 6 of spades, Molle bets out 7700, and the danish girl quickly folds. This puts Molle on 57.000 in chips.

As I said Ramzi has now given us some action, by some steals and nice hands he has doubled his stack up to 30.000.

Toni is still on a run, now with 65.000 in chips.

Joao Gabriel Fernandes has just changed table, and there he sat down with 23.000.

Molle in good shape today as well…

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Molle is doing good at his table he’s now up to 46.000 in chips, without having any special hands and just stealing pots without any showdowns. That is the difference between a player and a good player, so Molle must be a good player.

Joao Gabriel in some action..

Joao Gabriel in some action..

Our Portugese/Canadian Qualifier found some action at his table, again he raises up to 2200, and the small blind decides to put all his chips in, which means about 11.000, Joao Gabriel makes the call and flips up AQ of clubs, his opponent shows pocket 9s. Time for a race… No help on the flop, nothing on the turn, now he needs an Ace or Queen to take this pot. Is it? Nooo. Joao still got 29.000 in his chip stack so no worries yet.

Not to talk about Toni, 62.000 in chips!! I asked him:
- So any all-ins or other interesting stuff?
- No, only great poker and skills.

Ramzi, 15.000, he still looks happy, so I think he will give us some good action soon.

Finnish fight..

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

The players have sat down at the tables, made themselves comfortable and played for about 40 minutes. The chipstacks of our players are pretty much the same as they had in the start of the day.

Finn vs Finn = Action

Finn vs Finn = Action

I talked to Toni about his table, he didn’t know anyone except the other famous Finn Jani Sointula. Toni is on the same chipstack he had in the beginning of the day which means about 41.000.

Our Canadian Qualifier Joao Gabriel Fernandes got involved in a hand with the Swede Bo “Legato” Sehlstedt. He raised up to 2200 on the button with the blinds 400/800, “Legato” decided to go all in with 12.000, this puts Joao gabriel in the tank, and efter some mumbling he decides to fold. Also Joao Gabriel is on the same stack as the start of the day.

Molle and Ramzi is so far calm, but I am very sure that here will be some big action soon..
