Toni through to day 3!

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

After a few All-in moves from Toni he ended the day on 104.500, it’s not one of the biggest stacks but it is a stack that will give us good action, Toni said himself that his strategy is “all-in, all-in, all-in”. If this will work, we will have a dangerous Toni tomorrow! He has played very solid poker today, without any mistakes but without any cards it could be hard to collect that many chips.

There is now 149 players remaining and 88 of them will get money, the average stack is 188.000, so Toni definently has a chance to get a long way in this tournament, and first of all survive day 3!

As usual we have a schedule for a new freeroll tomorrow and of course also another Quiz! Follow EPT Monte Carlo by Pokerstars.com day 3 in the blog tomorrow!

Good Luck Toni!

Finally a hand..

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Toni raised to 10.500 and a player a few seats behind him went all-in with about 30.000. Toni called with AK, and was up against two 5s. The flop came out 5J7, and Toni was almost drawing completely dead, only a straight would save him. The turn was a 9 and Toni lost the pot and is now down to 75.000.

This was pretty much the first good hand Toni has got in 3 hours, so of course he is very annoyed that he couldn’t win the coinflip. The players has been at the casino for soon 12 hours, and there are lots of tired eyes in here, including my own. There is now 152 players left, and the average is up to 184.000. Only 30 minutes to go until we have Toni through to the 3rd day..

Toni vs Sandra Naujoks

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Toni just got one good and one bad surprise, Sandra Najoks the winner of EPT Dortmund just sat down next to him, the good surprise is the good company, the bade surprise is that she has a huge stack of more then 330.000. Let’s hope that Toni can get some of it.

Toni has been very calm at the table, pretty much not played a hand with lot of action the last two levels. Now he has one level left to boost his stack. Now he has about 100.000 and the average stack is 158.000 and 77 players left.

Go Toni!

200 players to go..

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

We are down to 200 players in this main event, only 112 more needs to go out and Toni will be guaranteed €20.000. Of course he is hunting for the record first price of €2.300.000!

The last level Toni hasn’t been playing much a few pots he has taken down pre flop, but no flop action to report about. He has lost some chips and now have about 102.000 in chips. Let’s give him some good cards!

Dinner break over..

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

And Toni is back on his seat. Half of the field has been eating, while the second half has been playing, so a few more players has gone out from the tournament, we now have 221 players left out of the 935 who started. The average stack is 120.000 and Toni has 115.000.

Toni is feeling comfortable for day 2, and he hoped to get some good cards so he can build a really big stack, just as everybody else in here.

Toni is up to 119.000 without any special hands, he is now going to dinner break for some more fish.

There is now 250 players left in the tournament and the average is 112.000.

Looks promising!

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Toni likes the table he is on, he’s been able too see who the fishes are, so now he has started eating. There has been a few interesting pots:
Toni had 99, and there was some betting pre flop, the flop came out 533, and Toni bets out 5000, his opponent re raises to 15000, and becauuse he thinks that this player is one of the weak players at the table he calls. Then both players check down for show down, Toni shows his 9s, and his opponent shows two 10s and wins the pot of about 40.000. Here he is down to about 80.000.

Then this hand is played out, one player raises 4000 pre flop, another player calls so does Toni in the Big Blind. Toni has KJ. Flop comes out K95, Toni checks, player who raised pre flop bets out 5000, Toni calls. Turn is another 9, player bets out 6000, Toni calls and on the river there is a 2 and both player checks. Toni turns over his KJ and his opponent mucks his card. This takes Toni back to 105.000.

The average is 102.247, and we have 273 players left in the tournament, out of those 86 will be paid.

Next post will contain a freeroll password!

Ivo continued to push..Quiz!

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

And did it really good, he got his stack up to 19.000 and then he pushed again and this time he got called by K4 off suit, Ivo did not like the call at all. Ivo turned over his hand JQ, so he had a good percentage to win a pot over 40.000. The flop came out A73, turn 9 and the river had to be a J or Q for Ivo to double through. The river is a 10 and no help. Ivo is out but he is already charging his batteries for the 5k side event that is starting soon, let’s hope for some better luck there!

So now it is up to our lonely RedKing, the Finn, the champion, the best, Toni Ojala.

Here is a easy Quiz for you: How many chips will Toni end the day with? (You have to answer to this post, with your RedKings username, the answer 0 is not a valid guess, if that’s the case there will be a draw between everybody that answers)

Good Luck!

Ivo goes all-in..

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Ivo down to about 9000. In chips and pushed two times in a row all-in but amazingly no one called. His stack has become crippled by the blinds that now really is starting to get expensive, they are now going up to 800/1600, and Ivo has 14.000.

Toni has calmed down a bit now, from being the most active player in the tournament for a while. His stack has a value of 107.000. The average stack is about 80.000 and there is 354 players remaining.

Ivo is going to push all-in a lot now, so stay with me.

Lots of action..

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Every time I have walked over to Tonis table his stack has been either short or very big, and I have missed every interesting hand, but now in the break I got a brief on exactly what has happend, enjoy.

First Toni lost a big pot, he had KQ of hearts and on the flop of 246 with two hearts Toni got all-in against a guy with the top set 66. This took Toni down to about 40.000.

Just a few hands after that Toni got in to a big pot pre flop against a very loose player, Toni had AKs and the other player 78s and it was a race, Toni was in the lead. The lead just became bigger on the flop as a K came out, now he got up to about 70.000.

Then again just a few hands after that Toni was all-in with QQ vs AK and no Ace or King showed up on the board and Toni got another player out. On a role! He is now up to the crazy heights of 110.000 in chips! He has to watch out though as he’s got his fellow Finn “LarsLuzak” on the same table with an even bigger stack of 200.000.

Ivo Donev is still looking for action, he got some when he went all-in with AJ and got called by…AJ. Split pot, and he is still on the starting stack of the day, 22.000.

The players are today playing 75 minute levels, a change against yesterdays 60 minute levels. Players are still dropping pretty fast we now have 434 players left and we had about 530 players starting today.

The update sis now going to come much more frequent, so if you want enjoy this Thursday afternoon, keep updating!
