Vesa Jakobsson off to the rail..

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Just before the break Vesa had AK and went all-in, he got a bad surprise when he got called by AA and had to leave in around the 240th position about $2800 richer..

Lauri Kiiski is still in there, with a decent stack of 30.000. He was happy about it, but still not happy enough, he is going for the final table!

Ivo has about 11.000 in the tripple chance event. Stephan Kjerstad is also still in with 7500..

In the money!

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Both Vesa Jakobsson and Lauri Kiiski has made it to the money in event 51, pretty impressing numbers by Team RedKings 2/6 in the money.

There is now 249 players left and from now Lauri and Vesa can start counting money!

Congratulations to hem both!

Stephan Kjerstad came two hours late to the $3000 NLHE Tripple shootout event, but now he is there sitting down in the Amazon Room. Ivo Donev who already has played for 2 hours and has about 9000 in his stack after changing in all the “re buy” chips. Stephan has also changed them in and is sitting down with 9000 chips..

So how about the guys that is playing the second day in event 51, Lauri Kiiski and Vesa Jakobsson, they just started and we are getting really close to the money after 1 hour of poker. Both of them are still in with around the same stacks they started the day with.

Lots of action to come..

Vesa Jakobsson - Not far away from the money..

Vesa Jakobsson - Not far away from the money..

As you know it is not only the WSOP that is running at the moment, over in Europe and Barcelona we also have a WPT event with a RedKings player, Per Linde.

Per did go through to the second day, and just 1 hour in to the second day he finds AK suited, and gets all his chips in against QQ, the classic coinflip. On the flop another Q comes up and gives his opponent a set and no outs for Per to double up, he has to leave to the beaches in Barcelona instead..

Today we will have a lot of action anyway, we have Lauri Kiiski and Vesa Jakobsson who both qualified to event 51 through the promotion Mission2Vegas. Now they have a chance to win $664.000! Lauri with the biggest stack of them two with 35600, and Vesa with 9300. They start in 2 hours from now.

Then we have event 52 starting with Ivo Donev, a $3000 NLHE Tripple Chance event. Tripple chance means that you have two chips that you can change in at any time, everybody starts with 3000 chips but if you change in the two chips directly you get 9000.

It’s a Smorgasbord!

Lauri Kiiski - Impressive game so far..

Lauri Kiiski - Impressive game so far..

With 6 starting RedKings players in this event, we have 2 that makes it through to the second day together with the 347 other players.

Yes, not 3, only 2, this means that someone has ended the tournament at the last level of today. It was Veli-Pekka Penttinen who also played for RedKings in Aussie Millions for RedKings with a very impressing result, his 66 wasn’t good enough against 1010 and he went home without coming back tomorrow.

Lauri Kiiski our own Tennis Pro had a impressive rush at the end of the day boosting his stack up to 35600!! He has to think about changing profession..

Vesa Jakobsson comes back tomorrow with 9300, he says he had a few beats but still happy with going through for tomorrow, with almost only 10% of the field left.

Tomorrow we will know if these guys will be able to get any money, 297 players gets paid so it is not far away, and all you readers will only know by continuing reading the blog tomorrow! And don’t forget that today we have Per Linde playing day 2 in WPT Barcelona..

Only 540 to go..

Vesa Jakobsson - How much chips does he have?

Vesa Jakobsson - How much chips does he have?

Out of this enormous field we now only have 540 players left after soon almost 9 hours of poker.

Our three RedKings players are still hanging in there. We have Lauri Kiiski with 7500, Veli-Pekka Penttinen with 20.000 and Vesa Jakobsson with at the moment unknown stack but there will soon come an update on that.

The average is up to 23175, so if they don’t wanna become the bubble boys they soon have to speed it up a little.

RedKings gets a rush..

Lauri Kiiski - Poker/Tennis player

Lauri Kiiski - Poker/Tennis player

From the last update there has been a lot of going on with the chip stacks of our three remaining players, all of them in a good way.

Veli-Pekka Penttinen promised us that if he gets to stay at the same table all day he will have a big chip stack, and it seems like our Finnish friend keeps his promises. He is now up to 25.000 in chips.

Our Tennis Pro Lauri Kiiski has also taken a few sets, and has boosted his stack to around 11.000.

Vesa Jakobsson which I had a hard time to find among the huge amount of tables in the Amazon Room, so for a while I thought he had left us until I found him with a stack of 14.000.

The players has just gone to Dinner break after 8 hours of poker today. 1030 players remain with an average stack of 12.150.

Richard Weiss involved in big pot..

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

The pot was for about 15.000, and right now I don’t have the exact details of what happened, but Richard was in the lead until the river and all his chips was moved to another player so also Richard had to leave the tournament. More about the hand later..

Now we have about 1600 out of the 2800 players starting left in the tournament and 3 of these are still RedKings players, Vesa Jakobsson, Lauri Kiiski and Veli-Pekka Penttinen.

Lauri Kiiski 4.000
Vesa Jakobsson 6.000
Veli-Pekka Penttinen 6.000

Two out, four still in fighting..

Jyrki Ahola

Jyrki Ahola

Jyrki Ahola had top two pair on a board with possible flush. He tried with putting all his chips in the pot, put the opponent had the flush and Jyrki left early to the cash game tables.

Richard Weiss has lost a bit and is down to 6.000 from his early double up.

Lauri Kiiski is going stable and is also he on 6.000, without any big hands.

Veli-Pekka Penttinen says that he is very happy with his table and so far he has squeezed his stack up to 6.000 but he thinks that it soon will be more.

Also Vesa Jakobsson is around 6.000 in chips.

Go Team RedKings!
