Toni is over half a million in chips, more exactly 510.000!
Level 16 is running with 2.5k/5k in blinds and an ante of 500…
Toni just went in to his first break as they finished level 16 by playing the last 48 minutes that was left after they stopped the clock yesterday. He just played two hands and stole the blinds, best hand so far is A8, let’s hope he can find something better in the coming level. He is still stable on 410.000.
There is still a few famous players left in the tournament, more than Toni Ojala:
Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier France 454,200
Jens Kyllonen Finland 400,500
Mike Mcdonald Canada 307,800
Thierry Van Den Berg Netherlands 220,200
Roland de Wolfe UK 198,900
Noah Boeken Netherlands 124,500
Samer Abdul Rahman Sweden 455,900
64 players left, and it will probably go down pretty quick in the coming level..
Explanation for subject line: Hollywood, but with poker players, Pollywood…
Toni got quite a interesting table for day 3, see below:
Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier France 454,200
Toni Ojala Finland 422,500
Santiago Terrazas Ambite Spain 166,600
Roman Kadziela Poland 134,900
Carlos Lopez Spain 95,900
Dominik Nitsche Germany 87,100
Malte Strothmann Germany 73,400
Thayer Rasmussen USA 46,700
He’s got Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier on his table, and that will definitely be Toni’s biggest threat today as the rest of the players on his table is pretty short stacked.
Having a quick chat with Toni he also said just that “The shortstacks will go all-in and try to double up as it doesn’t really matter if they go out now in 72nd position or in 20th position with this flat price structure, and I have to call with AQ and better, also pocket pairs”.
By following this blog you will know every move Toni takes, and you don’t wanna miss out on that! 72 players remaining…
Toni has today just continued playing the game he started playing yesterday. If you would put his chip stack in a graph from the beginning of the tournament it would have shown a very steady curve going up, probably the most steady of any of the remaining players.
Toni was very happy after the day with his game, even though he had tough tables he managed to accumulate chips against all his opponents. Now he is just looking forward to tomorrow, just as we all Team RedKings supporters are doing.
There is 72 players remaining and the average stack is at 199.583.
Follow him here tomorrow at 12:30 CEST, and also get the password for a new blog freeroll that will be running tomorrow night!
We only have 60 minutes left on level 15, and we only have 77 players left. Only 5 more players to go until we will have 72 happy players inside casino Barcelona, hopefully one of them will be the Team RedKings member Toni Ojala.
Toni just changed table, and was for about 30 minutes sitting down with the famous Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, luckily in position of him. Nothing special happened here, and he has now moved on to another new table where he might be the chip leader.
The average is up to about 185.000 and Toni is well above with 375.000! The blinds are 1.500/3.000 with an ante of 300. This will be the last level of the day…
Toni is now up to 385.000 and he is crushing his table, just listen to what Samer said to me after the hand:
“What’s his name?”
“Toni Ojala, Finnish”
“I was trying to slowroll him, but then he is slowrolling me, I have a lot of anger against him right now”
This was the very mild version of what he actually said, but there might be some under aged readers to this blog, so lets keep it like that.
There is now 90 players left with an average stack of around 250.000.
Respect for Toni!
So, to the good news, Toni Ojala is still in with a stack of 222.000, and he is the RedKing we will have to trust in from now on. The stable play he has showed so far has been amazing, so if he can keep that up and not get any of these ugly bad beats, this could become very interesting..
More to come on Toni!
Oh yes, he is. Toni’s table has a lot of big stacks, the two biggest ones are held by the Swede Samer Rahman and Matt Woodward. Matt was UTG and raised to 5.000, Toni who is sitting two positions after him re-raised to 16.000, Woodward called. The flop showed 2810, and Woodward checked, Toni fired out 24.000, and Matt Woodward re-raised Toni all-in, Toni didn’t need to think about it and pushed it all-in. Matt Woodward flipped over Q10 for top pair, but that was not good enough against Tonis AA. The turn and river didn’t give what Woodward needed and Toni doubled up to 225.000!
Christian Heich is around 70.000 in chips.
Level 12 has been running for about an hour, and we are down to 119 players and an average chip stack of 120.7k.
Go Ojala and heich!
The players are now going in to the third level of the day, level 12. There is 140 players remaining and the average stack is up to 101.000.
Christian Heich, 79.000
Toni Ojala, 138.000
Toni got moved from his original table, and didn’t need to be out of position on David Williams anymore, on his new table this happend:
The flop was out 258, Toni was on the SB and checked, his opponent in late position bet out 6k, Toni thought for a while and then called. The turn is another 2, and Toni decides to check again, his opponent now bets out 14.000 and only has 16.000 behind, any pokermind would think “Hmmm, he is trying to show me that he is pot commited, but it’s a bluff” and that was just what Toni thought when he bet out all his yellow chips which is worth about 70.000. His opponent now goes in to the tank and calls after a minute with KQ off suit, for K high! Toni turns over TT, and the river shows an ace and Toni rakes in another big pot, taking him up to 140.000.
Christian Heich has lost a bit of his stack, and is down to 60.000.
We are now on level 11 with 800/1600 in blinds and an ante of 200. 164 players remaining, with an average stack of 85.000.
