The day of the Orange..

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Day 3 in EPT Copenhagen is here, and we have 76 players remaining, which of 2 are dutch, and those two both qualified online at RedKings.com.

Pieter van Genderen buyed in to one of the $320 live event qualifiers, after seeing the great value it had. Then he got one of the 5 packages, and here he is, close to the money, and maybe soon able to buy a Ferrari?

Steven Vollers, who actually is doing his 2nd EPT tournament, last time was in Prague a couple of years back, then he was left among the last 3-4 tables. Now he has the chance to make an even better result.

Ojala falls on flush and straight draw..

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

The day is closing up to the end, and for you that thought Toni Ojala was going to another day 3, was wrong.

In a limped pot with four players, Toni had _8s _Ts, and the board was out _Ks _Js _Qs. The blind player checks, 2nd player checks, Toni makes it 6.100, CO player calls, blind player folds, the open limper raises to 25.000 and Toni goes all-in for about 70.000, the CO player folds and the open limper calls and shows _Ac _Th for the nut straight. Toni still got outs, but both the turn and river bricks out.

Now it’s up for our two flying Dutchmen, who still is doing very well.

Pieter van Genderen, 190.000
Steven Vollers, 137.000

80 players remaining, and not far to go to the money! Come on Netherlands!

RedKings busts..

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

This might be one of my saddest blog posts in the history, my skin is cold and the tears are close to fall out from my eyes, for you that don’t care about this and instead want the reason, enjoy..

Ramzi Jelassi was down to 15.000 after losing a pot with trip Aces. After this he was all-in, and just couldn’t double up. Ramzi who started the day with a big chip stack is now one of the victims on day 2 of EPT Copenhagen, after just having a really cold day.

Then what just takes sorrow to a new level is when Stephan Kjerstad gets all the chips in pre flop with _Ks _Kh after 4-betting and opponent shoving, easy call for Stephan, and correct call. His opponent shows _Ah _Qs.

Board _9s _9c _Td _Ac _Xx

It’s a pot worth 160.000 that goes to his opponent, and Stephan again gets busted on a pure bad beat..

What makes me see the light in the tunnel is the two Dutchmen and Toni Ojala who has managed to boost his stack up to a enormous 150.000!

Van Genderen Queens the river..

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Pieter van Genderen!

Pieter van Genderen!

Van Genderen finds _Qh Qs on the Big Blind, and just call a bet of 4.000 pre flop. Flop shows _7c _2c _3s. Opponent bets 5.000, van Gederen calls. Turn _Kh, van Genderen calls a bet of 7.500. River is _Qs giving him trip Queens, now van Genderen bets out 11.000 and gets called. Opponent mucks, and van Genderen shows his three ladies and boosts his stack up to 98.000.

Toni Ojala again changed table, not that this one is much better, now he is sitting down with Sebastian Ruthenberg and the Finnish high stakes online player Sami “LarsLuzak” Kellopuro. Ojala 94.000.

Steven Vollers, 79.000
Stephan Kjerstad, 78.000
Ramzi Jelassi, 15.000

Ojala-la-la-la..

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Toni Ojala - 80.000

Toni Ojala - 80.000

Toni Ojala our Finnish Champion is giving us some freaky action. First he opened with _Ah _Kc, and a tight player went all-in for 25.000, Toni was thinking about folding, but called. His opponent showed _Qd _Qs and the board showed another _Qh and Toni went down to 50.000.

A few hands after he finds _As _Kh in the Big Blind on his new table with Luca Pagano and Peter Eastgate, which he by the way doesn’t like too much. The pot was opened, and the chipleader at the table called, Toni made it 13.500, and the opener folded, but chipleader called. Flop _Ad _8d _4d, Toni bets out 18.500 and CL folds. Toni is back at 80.000, let’s hope he can handle Eastgate and Pagano.

Ramzi Jelassi is dissapointed on the day so far, “Every time I put chips in the pot, I never get them back” and sure it’s nice to be generous, but that is not how you become a professional poker player like Ramzi.

Ramzi Jelassi, 43.000
Stephan Kjerstad, 80.000
Steven Vollers, 52.000
Toni Ojala, 80.000
Pieter van Genderen, 69.000

Time for level 11, Blinds 800/1600, Ante 200. 181 players remaining. Average Chipstack 70.100.
