The GSOP Live Manchester Champion - Jens Kerper!

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

The heads-up between Jens Kerper of Germany and Rolf Inge Kvanik lasted in total less than ten hands. There was not much action between the short dinner break and in the second hand after the break, Jens Kerper put Kvanik all-in for 13 big blinds and Rolf Inge made the call with A8 offsuit.

It was yet another race, as Jens held Q9 offsuit.

The board ran Q55 T 7 and the German crwod erupted into a wild “KERPER!! KERPER!! KERPER!!!” chant.

Congratulations to both Rolf Inge and Jens!

We will be back in action in Greece October 11th 2011and the Qualifiers are runnign at RedKings - Make sure you will join us in the fantastic Porto Carras holiday resort for five days of poker, golf and cun-bathing at the Mediterranean!

A flip for the tournament

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Andis and Jens have been going after each other and it all culminated in a pre flop all-in:

Andis opened the button to 65k, Jens made it 175k. Andis wasn´t giving up and made it 365k with about a million behind. Jens considered his option for a moment before moving all-in and Andis quickly made the call.

It was Andis´s 77 againts Jens´s AT, so we had a classic race which was highly likely to determine the winner of the tournament as the third player, Norwegian Rolf Inge Kvanik has been more passive than the other two and is much more short-stacked.

The flop board ran an ugly AAQJ5 and after a brilliant four day performance, Team RedKings Qualifier Andis Netlaus is GSOP Live Manchester third player finisher for $35,098. Congratulations Andis!

Andis shows no fear

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Andis and the other big stack have been tangling a lot, we just witnessed a hand where Andis bet two streets and showed 7 high after Jens folded.

At the moment it looks like it´s either Andis or Jens taking down the tournament.

Chipcount 3 ways

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Rolf Inge Kvanik 500,000 Norway

Andis Neutlaus 1,500,000 Latvia

Jens Kerper 3,000,000 Germany

Johannes Erfurth eliminated in 4th place

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Johannes Erfurth who had built his stack up to over a million has just been eliminated at 4th place for $28,268.

Jens Kerper opened utg four handed, Johannes 3-bet and Jens four-bet him all-in. Johannes went into the tank, and finally elected to call with AQo.

It was a good call, as he was against JTcc of Kerper and then the rollercoaster ride began:

Flop 3d 10h Ks and Jens took the lead.

Turn Jh!! Johannes was now looking to double-up.

River Ts and a full house for Jens!!! Johannes´s tournament ended in one of the most brutal of ways.

Jens Kerper now has a big chiplead, while Rolf Inge Kvanik is shortstacked and our Team RedKings Qualifier  Andis Netlaus has enough to fight back!

Blinds up to 15k/30k

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Andis is gaining a bit of an edge at the table. He took down couple of pots against Jens Kerper, first 4-betting pre and then by barreling two streets. At the moment Rolf Inge Kvanik and Johannes Erfurth are much more passive than the two other.

Andis doubles up - 2nd in chips now!

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

Kvanik opened the button and Johannes Erfurth made it 162k in the small blind, only to get cold four-bet shoved on by Andis, who had 816k behind.

Johannes tanked for a minute or two while Andis calmly waited for his decision without showing anything.

Finally Johannes made the call with AJo and as Andis held a pair of sixes, the players were off to a race!

Andis, who apparently has ice running thru his vains, shov absolutely now feelings eventhough his tournament was on the line, got more to sweat on KQ4 flop as his opponent picked up a gutshot straight draw, but after the dealed turned a 6, Johannes soon had only the gutshot to win the pot, and the river brought a nine for no unnecessary drama.

Andis is now up to 1,7 million or so and second in chips while Johannes slips down to under half a million.

We knew it!

Saturday, August 6th, 2011

As predicted in the previous entry, the play has now slowed down significantly. There has been basically no big pots at all, each player taking down a pot or two with a preflop raise or maybe with a continuation bet. The only pot worth mentioning was just played between Andis in the small blind and Jens Kerper in the big blind:

Andis limped pre and Jens checked his option.

Flop fell Qs Tc 6d and Andis led 24k, Jens called

Turn was 4d and Andis check raised Jens´s 37k bet to 106 and got called.

River was Td and Andis, after thinking for a moment, check-called Jens´s 221 bet.

Andis is down to about a million now and Jens is building chipleadin, heading towards the 2 million mark.
