Aussie Millions Day 1, flight 3..

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

As I said in my previous post, we had 4 players playing for RedKings in the Aussie Millions. It was a very long first day for the players and everybody was fighting to stay alive until the day 2, when they all should be put together into one field of players.

From the first day, flight 2, we managed to get 1 out of 3 players through to the second day. This was the Finnish Qualifier Veli-Pekka Penttinen, who went through with a chip stack of around 37,000.

Ramzi Jelassi didn’t manage to beat his last year position in the Aussie Millions, when he finished as the 25th, and got known as the crazy swede here in Australia. I spoke with him both before and after the tournament, and he said that he has been treated as a king here in Melbourne, because almost everybody in the casino knows him from last year when he became a big favorite for the audience. So no luck for Ramzi this year and he went out on the first day, after never really been able to get a big stack to play with. Ramzi wasn’t the only swede playing, Kent Lundmark made a few more hours than Ramzi, but sadly he never made it to the second day.

So, to the good news, we right now have Christian Heich playing in the 3rd first day, flight 3. After winning the AU$1000 side event, he feels really confident at the table, and is still alive with a very decent stack of 36.000, with another 4 hours to play.

I will give you another update later today on how it went for Christian!

Now, this is not the only reason to keep updating this page, because from today we will have have up to minute reporting on the EPT Deauville, where we also have RedKings represented! More about that soon..

Four Team RedKings players in Aussie Millions, day 1, flight 2.

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

It is hard to miss the Team RedKings nowadays, we were in Finland just a few days ago and now we have traveled to the other side of the world to see the team playing in the Aussie Millions in Melbourne, Australia.

This time we have four players playing for the team, we have our star Ramzi Jelassi who is playing his first live tournament since his recent €130,000 win in the €2,200 side event in Prague. We have Christian Heich who actually had a even more recent win here in Australia in the AU$1,100 side event just a couple of days ago. It was a record field and of course also for the win he got the record prize of AU$150,000. So we know that those guys are on fire.

Christian and Ramzi is not our only players for this tournament, we also have a Swede and a Finn who qualified in to the Aussie Millions, and now get the honor to hold the RedKings flag in Australia. Kent Lundmark a young very successful online poker player who mostly plays SNGs and Multi Table Tournaments. Kent has been killing his opponents online, so why shouldn’t he be able to do it offline as well? The Finns has really showed that they are to count on in the big live circuit, Veli-Pekka Penttinen might be the next one winning big here in the Aussie Millions.

I am sure they are all very confident in the RedKings shirt. We will try to follow them the best we can for you, even if we don’t have any on the floor able to give you up to minute reporting. We will still update after each day with interesting hands, chip counts and big stars they have been able to meet and beat.

So have the computer close to you, and we will all cheer for our players in the Aussie Millions 2009!
