Ivo Donev has done a magnificent effort here in London, beating 717 players. It doesn’t always end up as you want, but we are all happy for Ivo and his success.

Last hand Ivo moved all-in for 823.000, and the Norweigan Gudvangen also moved all-in for 2.655.00 after thinking for a while.

Ivo has managed to gather some more chips against the player who started the day as chip leader but now is out, Michael Barry. Ivo raised to 90.000 pre-flop, Berry called. Flop came out 7♥ T♠ . Both players checked. Turn is Q♣, and Ivo bet 110.000 and gets called. The river is T♥ and Ivo bet 250.000 and Berry folds.

We have lost three players, and are down to 13 meaning a guaranteed pay-day of £23.000. Congratulations to Ivo for that!

Ivo is still a little bit short stacked, with 890.000.

They have now changed the tables, and Ivo is moved up to the TV-table, he is the short stack on this table with 583.000. We have started a new level with blinds of 20.000/40.000 and an ante of 4.000. There is still 16 players in it.

Ivo told me about the hand where he lost a big amount of chips when he 4-bet the Norweigan player. Ivo thought he was Squeezing, and that he would fold, and Ivo only had a middle pocket pair. After listening around, we now also now that the Norweigan had Q♥ Q♠, so it was a good fold by Ivo.

Time to double up for Ivo!

A player in the middle position made it 65.000, Ivo in the cutoff called, so did the player on the button, but the player on the SB re-raised to 229.000. The original opener folded, Ivo thought for a second and then re-raised to 560.000. The player on the button folded, but again the player on the SB goes over the top and goes all-in for 1.500.000. Ivo obviously has a good hand, but not good enough to call with so he folds.

Ivo goes down to about 800.000 in chips and we still have 16 remaining players, so there’s nothing to worry about yet!

During this level two big poker profiles has joined Ivo’s table, it is the Norweigan girl Anette Obrestad and the 2008 World Champion Peter Eastgate. There has been a battle going on between Ivo and Anette, first Ivo raised to 75.000, and Anette pushed all-in for 600.000, that time Ivo folded.

A few hands later when Anette already had lost a few pots and was down to 250.000, she moved all-in, Ivo in the position after called.

Level 23 just ended, and we got some Ivo action in the last hand before the break. Ivo was in the SB, and raised 55.000, the player in the BB called. Flop 8♣ 3♥ 7♣. Ivo bets 91.000, and again gets called. Turn Q♥, Ivo again bets, this time 150.000, and now the player in the BB folds. Ivo shows exclusively for the RedKings cam that he had J♥ 8♦, with a pair of 8s.

Ivo is still on his A-game, and his chip stack is showing just that, Ivo’s got 1.240.000 with 19 players left, the average is at 1.152.600..

They have now been playing for about 40 minutes and during this period Ivo has been involved in two hands. First he raised UTG to 55.000, and everybody folds, Ivo shows A♠ K♣ for the crowd.

A few hands after this the player on the button raises to 60.000, Ivo decides to only look at one of his cards and he sees A♠ and with only that information he decides to re-raise to 180.000. The player on the button folds, and first now Ivo looks at the other card and sees another A♥ and shows the bullets for the table.

He was a bit disappointed on himself, because he was going to make a trap if he knew he had the two aces, but his opponent did probably not have a good hand anyway, and a pot is always a pot. Ivo Donev is around 1.100.000 in chips..
