Is today the weather in San Remo, it’s amazing.

This means that our Team RedKings members hasn’t been doing to good in the €2000 side event. Ramzi was up to 33.000 just a few minutes before they stopped playing yesterday, he was very very happy with how he played the tournament until then. He got dealt AK and got all his chips into the pot against JJ. Ramzi couldn’t win this hand, and he had to go home to his rented house in Nice without coming back today.

So, everything up to Ivo Donev who managed to get into day 2 with 19.000 in chips. I just met him when I arrived to the casino 5 minutes after the tournament started, and that meant that also he was out.

Now we don’t have any tournaments left here in San Remo, but it is only 6 days left until EPT Monte Carlo starts, with a buy-in of €10.000 and 3 RedKings players to follow it is going to be some exciting action!

Only 1 hour left to play for today in the €2000 side event, Ramzi has doubled up with 78 when he made a re-steal and the Italian player called his all-in with 95, don’t need to say no more, Italians are interesting (but bad) poker players.

Molle had two Queens and pushed all his chips into the flop pre flop, he got called…by AA. The flop came out Q…6….A. Molle got his Queen but his opponent found his ace, so Molle had to leave the table.

They are playing for 2 more levels tonight, and we still have Ramzi and Ivo in the game. Ramzi with about 15.000 and Ivo with about 20.000.

For your information this is a 3 day event, so it will continue tomorrow and so will the reporting do!

The structure in the €2000 side event is very good, but that makes it very boring to follow. I will try to spice it up by saying that the atmosphere in the casino is good, with rich people walking around showing off with their money.

I can also give you some comments from the players in the break they just had. Molle says “This is probably the tournament with the best value in Europe together with the events in Deauville, the Italians are horrible”. Ramzi says that he hasn’t had any luck yet and that there was one player who didn’t play a hand for 5 hours but when he had AK, he called with 102 and won with a pair of twos. Ivo is just walking around and socializing with his friends.

And we have three RedKings players in it, Ivo Donev, Ramzi Jelassi and Jonas “Molle” Molander. They all say that the structure is better in this side event than it is in the main event, everybody starts with 20.000 chips instead of just 10.000.

They have been playing for about two hours now, and they are all still around the starting stack. Not much action to write about. I talked to Ramzi about his Main Event cash, and he was of course a bit disappointed, but it seemed like he charged his batteries really quick as he directly went to the €2.000 side event.

They are all soon going to dinner, and after that you will probably get some more interesting action here in the blog.

After Ramzi went out, Christoph started playing very aggresive, he was all in four times but didn’t get called once. Then he was up to about 90.000, and it is a bit to big stack to push all-in with so instead he bet out 3xBB, the big blind called. Flop came out KK10, and Big Blind checks and Christoph moves all-in, the big blind snap calls with KQ and Christoph only had 77. A 7 was needed on the turn or river, but a Queen on the river ended the game for Christoph who finished in 69th position €11.400 richer! Of course he wanted more, but he is very happy with this result as he only paid a total of $20 to buy-in to the tournament! Congratulations Christoph!

This doesn’t mean that the action is over in San Remo, it has just started! Ten minutes ago the €2000 side event started with about 450 players in it, we have Ramzi, Molle and Ivo playing! If now Ramzi gets a seat as he is on the late registration list. You will hear all about it here..

Ramzi had been losing a few pot pre flop, as players went all in every second hand on his table and he had to fold his hand after raising. He was down to about 47k, which means not even 10 BB, and a wild player goes all-in one position before the button. Ramzi Calls. His opponent shows A9 suited, and Ramzi shows K10 suited, he needed some help from the board to win this one. The flop come out 10-4-4! Ramzi is now in a big lead as it is only the aces that helps his opponent. The turn - A. On the river it was a King and it even tricked me, but his opponent had a higher two pair with the aces and the fours. Ramzi leaves the tournament in 80th position €8000 richer.

Now it is all up to our qualifier Christoph who has about 70.000 in chips. Lets hope he can make it through to day 4!

Now when the players is in the money the game is going to loosen up, which is perfect for the Italians. Every time a Italian player wins a pot you can hear it over in Monaco, it is like the world championship in football with Italy in the final. I am doing my best to make the same noise when either Christoph or Ramzi wins a pot, but even I get the feeling it is like a division 5 game in Iceland. Too much football back to the poker!

Ramzi has lost a little bit of his stack and now has about 100.000, and Christoph has about half of that (50.000). The average is 97.000, so we shouldn’t be worried.
