Molle, in the money!

Molle, in the money!

I flew to Paris from Copenhagen on Thursday to meet up with Ramzi, Michael Thureniec, Nichlas Mattsson and Patric Mårtensson and play the 10k euro event in Paris. They all played day1A and Michael, Mattsson and Patric got through the day with good stacks to day2. I played day1B and got a really tough first table. I sat out of position to Anthony Le Louche, Freddy Deeb, Elky and Elky’s girlfriend. This table wasn’t very bad normally but if you compare it to the other tables it really was terrible.

The structure of the tournament was great. All players start with 20k in chips and the blinds start at 25/50. Each level lasted for 90 minutes. Since I sat out of position to some guys that can play decent poker I decided to take it easy in the start and see how things would evolve. They went in my favor even though I dropped down from 20k to around 15k in a pot versus Anthony.

In that particularly pot a bad French player limped in middle position for 50 chips and I raised 250 with QQ on the button. Anthony raised to 750 from the big blind, the limper folded and I called. Flop was 633. Anthony bet out 700 and I raised to 1900 and he called. Turn was a 7 and Anthony checked to me as I bet 3400 and then he raised me to about 8000 to which I folded after some thinking.
After a while after this pot Freddy Deeb got short, Anthony went out and Elky got short. All really good things for me. Anthony told me that he had 45 for a straight in the hand versus me after he busted so for what it’s worth.

I grinded my stack for a while got moved and then got up to about 40k. After that I just raised a lot not really catching anything specific but I just had a really good table and good timing. I built my stack up to 145,6k as day1B was finished. I felt very good about the way I played and was really proud to have that many chips without any really big setups or spectacular cards.

In day 2 I continued to raise a lot as I got a really soft table. I built my stack up to 200k and got moved to a tougher table where I slowed down and took it easy for a while. After some hours we were down to the money and last 18 players. After that I ran into set with AK when I bluffed and miscalculated a players stack which sadly was a pretty big mistake. This happened when we were down to the last 14 players. After that I got my last 60k in on a coinflip which I of course lost and I was disappointed and out as a 14th place finisher.

I had a lot of fever the last two hours of my tournament and still feel very sick. I went home on the Sunday and now I’m gonna try to get rid of all the fever as fast as possible so I will be able to play the Swedish Championship in Tallin on Thursday.

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Molle is now in the money, 18 players left and guaranteed an amount of €13.000. In this fiels we still have some famous names more than Molle himself, we have Michael Tureniec and Mark Teltscher as the two heaviest names.

We are playong down to 6 players which will be the official final table for tomorrow!

Stay tuned for the night reporting that is coming up!And congratulations Molle!

Information from day 2..

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Molle is one out of 30 players left in Grand Prix de Paris. Molle has so far played extremely good poker, and this has rewarded him with 180.000 chips. The average is 90.000, so his stack is one of the biggest of them all at the moment.

The blinds are now going up to 800/1600. Molle can become €420.000 richer if he manages to go all the way, but it is still a long way left. They will today play down to the final table, and if he gets there tomorrows reporting will be more active than ever!

Stay tuned…

Molle through to the second day..

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

With a very nice stack of 142.000, which takes him to the 2nd position in chips for day 2.

He hard a tough table the first hours yesterday, but when he got moved from there he started collecting chips and now it looks very promising for day 2.

Day 2 just started and I will keep you as updated as possible!

Go Molle!

Molle gets an early bad beat..

Molle vs the stars..

Molle vs the stars..

He hasn’t lost any chips on it yet, the bad beat is his table that probably right now is the toughest so far in the tournament. We have Molle, Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier, Freedy Deeb and Anthony Lellouche sitting down at the same table. A bit freaky, but Molle has shown before that he is not afraid of the superstars as he is one himself.

Yesterday 20 players went through out of the 66 starting, there is not yet any official number on how many that has been able to empty their ATM cards to join this expensive €10.000 tournament today, but they are expecting around the same number as yesterday.

I will keep you updated as much as I can!

Day 1a in Grand Prix de Paris..

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Ramzi Jelassi..

Ramzi Jelassi..

Ramzi Jelassi played in day 1a together with 65 other players, he was not the only famous name there, in the field we could also find Arnaud Mattern, Albert Iversen, Juha Helppi, Jani Sointula, Erik Friberg, Michael Tureniec and Surinder Sunar. They all paid the buy-in of €10.000 and for that they got 20.000 chips to play with.

Ramzi started the day very stable, just getting some chips by stealing and winning smaller pots. In the dinner break he had boosted his stack up to 33.000 chips. After the dinner he busted one player with KQ vs KJ, and got up to 38.000 and had almost doubled his stack.

This is where it turns for Ramzi and as he said himself “My cards are sooooo cold” and after a few hour of that he was already down to 12.000 in chips and struggling for not leaving his seat. The cards continued to be cold and in the end he had to go all-in with A10 vs KQ. Ramzi was in the lead but this was not his day and he couldn’t win the flip. No luck for Ramzi, but today we have a new chance in Jonas “Molle” Molander, who has told me that his shape is better than in a long time.

Good Luck Molle!
