The last hand Niko was short and had to go all-in with _Ks _6h and he was up against _2c _2h but there was no help for him on the board.

Niko Petro makes the final table in Helsinki Freezeout Main Event!

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

It’s an amazing story, he played a online satellite for a small buy-in and now he is among the 9 that will start a battle about the title tomorrow at 17:00 CET.

He’s been “in the zone” all day climbing from his starting stack of 15.000 and now up to 480.000. A very important pot was when he got all his chips in with _Qs _Qh vs _As _Kc and it held up and he doubled here his stack to about 360.000.

If you have missed the small live reporting that has been going on, I forgive you, but I won’t forgive you if you miss out on tomorrows final table.

Congratulations Niko!

Ville Forss - A champion

Ville Forss - A champion

]It has been a honor to follow Ville Forss in this tournament, and he has given us a lot of action. Unfortunately this is the last action he gave us.

Ville goes all-in with a small stack of 45.000 on the SB, the player in the BB decides to call quickly, and turns over _Ah _Qs, which Ville doesn’t like. Ville got _Qh _Js.

The flop looks promising.
_Jh _Tc _2d

But the turns changes it all again.
_Kh giving his Finnish opponent a straight.

River is a _9c giving both a straight but Villes is lower.

Niko Petro is still in to root for! Only 18 players left, and now time for dinner break.

Niko Petro, 170.000

Both qualifiers over 100.000..

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

It’s been a very good day so far for our Niko Petro, who early could make two double ups. First with _Ac _7h vs _Kd _Kh. A flop containing _Ah _As gave Niko the pot.

A few hands after this he got dealt _Ah _Ac and got again in all the chips in the middle, this tims vs _Jh _Jc. It stood up.

And again a few hands after that he got dealt _Ad _As and won a big pot. He now got 106.000.

Ville Forss is stable at 106.000

Here is the interview with Niko Petro done before the start of day 2, feels like his strategy worked?
