I got into poker about 5 years ago after watching a Heads-Up game on TV. I checked the rules of the game and decided to try to play online. There was a $100 freeroll at RedKings back then [and still is! -ed. note] and my first cash was 3rd place for $45 prize which I quickly lost when I started playing for real money. I found different books, videos, articles which helped me play better and after a while I realized that it’s possible to earn good money just playing poker. In the same time I regularly visited a local poker club where I won my first live tournament. Often getting to the final tables, for example one time I won a $75 buy-in tournament which brought me $12,000 in prize money.  And now I won an online tournament at RedKings and got the ticket to the live event in Malta! I hope my good luck is coming there with me.

Покером я увлёкся лет 5 назад. Тогда по телевидению впервые показали турнир по игре один на один. Немного разобравшись с правилами, я решил попробовать поиграть в интернете. Тогда в сети Онгейм был фриролл, в котором за 1-ое место давали 100$. Поиграв неделю, я занял в нём 3-е место и получил 45$. Затем я решил попробовать поиграть на реальные деньги. Благополучно проиграв эти деньги, я начал искать книжки, статьи и обучающие видео, которые могли бы помочь мне научиться играть. Спустя год я понял, что могу зарабатывать покером неплохие деньги и начал задумываться о том, чтобы уйти с работы. Как раз тогда я узнал, что в Петербурге открылся покер клуб “Лидер”. Я начал регулярно туда ездить и спустя месяц выиграл свой первый турнир в живую. После этого я довольно часто попадал на финальные столы, а вскоре выиграл турнир за 75$, за который получил 12000$ призовых. И вот сейчас я выиграл турнир на RedKings, получив билет на турнир на Мальте, куда я с удовольствием поеду. Надеюсь, мне там повезёт.

The first time I learned about poker few years ago. The game intrigued me immediately but I wasn’t crazy about it. It was fun for me to gather together with my friends and play with them. But since they created official special areas for poker in Russia it made many people stop playing offline inside the country. However, recently I have realized that online poker gives an excellent opportunity to participate in the international live tournaments. To qualify to such Live tournaments is quite easy even for an average player without having big experience. That’s what I did at RedKings and now I am looking forward to go to GSOP Live Malta. I am not a very experienced offline poker player but I am so sure I am going to have great time!

Первый раз я познакомился с покером несколько лет назад, и игра меня сразу заинтриговала, однако большого увлечения не вызвала. Покер был развлечением, которое позволяло весело провести время с друзьями за приятным занятием.  А с тех пор, как покер в России официально вывели в специальные игровые зоны наравне с азартными играми, от данного вида развлечения пришлось практически отказаться. Однако недавно я понял, что Online покер-румы предоставляют прекрасную возможность поучаствовать в международных турнирах. При этом пройти отборочные турниры на такой турнир вполне реально даже для игрока-любителя среднего уровня. Предложение RedKings отобраться через отборочные турниры на серию GSOP Live на Мальте мне показалось очень интересным, и я не ошибся. Так как опыта игры в больших offline турнирах у меня нет, я рассчитываю просто хорошо провести время.

My poker career began in 2007. For a long time I have been playing mostly cash games, was going up by limits starting with NL50. Now I play NL600-1000 on a regular basis. Some time ago I got interested in a tournament game. During the last few months I am constantly playing online Sunday tournaments with buy-ins $100+. I haven’t had a great success so far, but the distance is still very small to make any conclusions. Regarding my live poker experience, the only time I tried myself in a live tournament was 2 years ago.

Моя покерная карьера началась в 2007 году. Долгое время играл практически только кэш-игры. Поднимался по лимитам, начиная с микролимитов. Сейчас играю на регулярной основе НЛ600-1000. Некоторое время назад появилось желание попробовать себя в турнирной игре. Последние несколько месяцев регулярно играю в онлайне воскресные турниры с бай-инами 100+ USD на RedKings и в некоторых других покер-румах. Похвастаться большими успехами пока не могу, впрочем и дистанция пока очень мала, чтобы делать какие-то выводы. Единственный небольшой опыт оффлайн был 2 года назад - принял участие в турнире, проходившем в нашем городе.

I learned about poker about 1.5 years ago. I started with SNG micro limits but at that time I couldn’t play a lot because of my work. Step by step I went to higher limits playing low limit cash games as well. RedKings became my poker-room some 6 months ago where I went up from $11 up to $54-$108 tournaments. Two times I played side events at RPT Odessa but in both of them I was knocked out on the bubble, so, hopefully, GSOP Live Malta event will be more lucky for me and I’ll get into money this time.

О покере я узнал около 1.5 лет назад от моего друга, который так же в это время стал увлекаться игрой в покер. Я начал играть микро-лимиты снг, но уделять покеру много времени не удавалось из-за загруженности на работе. Неспешно поднимался по лимитам. Некоторое время играл низкие лимиты в кэш. Около полугода назад начал играть на RedKings и за 3 месяца поднялся с снг за 11$ до турниров за 54-108$, которые и играю до настоящего времени. В оффлайне играл только два “сайд ивента” на РПТ в Одессе и в обоих вылетел на бабле. Надеюсь, что на GSOP Malta удастся открыть счет попаданиям в ИТМ в оффлайне.
