Ramzi Jelassi - Guaranteed 28.000 SEK

Ramzi Jelassi - Guaranteed 28.000 SEK

And Ramzi is one of those 18 players who has the chance to get the title as the Swedish Champion, and what makes it a little bit more special is that today we are celebrating Sweden’s National Day!

Ramzi got a bit unlucky just in the end of the day yesterday when he got half of his stack in with KQ vs K7, and everything looked great until the river where of course the 7 showed up. He now has 73.500 in chips and is positioned 17/18 before the final day starts, but we know it’s Ramzi so anything can happen.

All the players are now in the money, and here is the price structure in Swedish crones (divide it by 10 to get it in €)

1 810 000 kr
2 535 000 kr
3 368 000 kr
4 285 000 kr
5 215 000 kr
6 175 000 kr
7 135 000 kr
8 100 000 kr
9 65 000 kr
10-12 45 000 kr
13-15 37 000 kr
16-18 29 000 kr
19-27 21 000 kr

Of course you will be able to follow Ramzi through his twitter here to the right throughout the day..

Good Luck Ramzi!

Ramzi going for the title..

Ramzi going for the title..

No, this is not an old post, Sweden actually has more than one Swedish Championship and the one Ramzi is playing in now is played in Sweden and not in Estonia as the last one.

Ramzi went through from the first day with a decent stack and is now playing in day 2. The tournament had in total 321 players and we now only have about 10% of those left, not less than 34 players. This means that we are already close to the money, as 27 players get paid.

Ramzi has been going a bit up and down today but he is till left with 40.000 chips, but it is starting to get expensive to play poker as the blinds just went up to 2.000/4.000 and Ramzi needs to either make some classic Ramzi moves or get some hands and double his stack.

You can follow Ramzi here to the right on his Twitter where he is live reporting with interesting hands and other fun gossip going on around the tables.

Go Ramzi!

First time with the best hand..

Finishes 23rd..

Finishes 23rd..

Ramzi was very crippled with only 8000 in chips and blinds of 1200/2400 with an ante of 300. He lost a few smaller pots to get down there and now he moved all in with A9 and got called by Q6. The opponent seems to be lucky as he manages to get a full house with Queens and Sixes. This means that Ramzi has to leave the tournament as the 23rd best player in Sweden..

Ramzi comments:
- Well, it’s the first time I am all in pre flop with the best hand, of course i won’t win..

He is a little bit disappointed now, he is now going back to Sweden after a long time on tour to come back strong for the WSOP, and maybe also for the Midnight Sun in Finland! Small guys vs the big guys..

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Also called the Cowboys. Ramzi had JJ and one player raised to 6.000 (blinds 1.000/2.000), Ramzi re-raised to 16.000, his opponent moves all-in for 50.000 and Ramzi decides to call. His opponent shows KK. Ramzi can’t get lucky this time and now he drops down to 25.000 while the average is about 65.000. 27 players left..

Ramzi needs a double up..

Ramzi kills the bullets..

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Ramzi likes to be all-in before the flop today, this time he had A10, and it really didn’t look that good for him as his opponent showed the best hand in poker AA. It didn’t look much better when the flop didn’t really give Ramzi any draws at all, just a back door flush draw. The turn did look promising though, another flush card and if Ramzi would hit another spade he would had done what only a Swedish champion can do, take down the bullets. The dealer looks at Ramzi while she flips over the 7 of spades! Ramzi up again to 60.000!

Ramzi comments himself:
- I think I have been all in 7 times in this tournament, and never with the best hand..

It’s just mean to be!

Now 31 players left…

32 players left..

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

And 14 more needs to go out to get Ramzi in to the money! Ramzi is not going for the money though he is only looking for the title Swedish champion.

Ramzi has after 2 hours already been involved in a lot of action, more than those hands I told you about before he has won a all-in pre-flop with A8 vs JJ, against another shortstack.

He has lost a big pot with K9s, with the board 226 with a flush draw for Ramzi but his opponents AQ held up as no help came on turn or river for Ramzi.

He just now lost a big pot with AK vs AQ, Ramzi raised pre-flop and got called, a Q high flop and Ramzi got out cheap by check-folding..

He is now down to 30.000 in chips..

Ramzi wants the shortstacks out.. Freeroll PW!

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

On the flop 8T5, Ramzi called a shortstack who went all-in. Ramzi showed J8, and his opponent had TT for the top set and just a runner runner straight could give him the pot, and this did not happen, so the shortstack doubled through.

Then when Ramzi was on the Big Blind a player moved all-in and Ramzi had the odds to call as it wasn’t much more to call. Ramzi wasn’t that strong with his 96 against JJ, and not either this time he could bed beat the shortstack, instead he doubled him up.

Ramzi still has a nice stack to play with, 48.000, so no worries yet.

Tonight at 20:00 CEST there is going to be a blog freeroll! $250 to win, without any cost to join! Just write the password: swe09 when you register!

The Swedish Championship day 2..

Ramzi Jelassi, Swedish star..

Ramzi Jelassi, Swedish star..

Ramzi starts the day with a good position with his 73.200 chips. They just started and Ramzi had the same cool attitude for todays action as usual.

Today you all readers will get a blog freeroll, more info about that soon!

Don’t miss out on todays action!

73.200..

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Is what Ramzi ends the day with, he became number 4 in in chips on day 1b and that puts him as number 7 in chips totally, and it looks good for tomorrow where 48 players will start at 14:00 CEST.

He just stole a few pots in the end and this boosted his stack up to what is one of the best stacks for the day. Tomorrow we have Ramzi with a big stack, which is like James Bond with a gun, with other words the opponents should be scared!

These are the players he will need to meet and beat tomorrow (Table 9):
Alexander Richnau 22 000
Ulrika Skönnemark 19 300
Linus Trankvist 42 900
Urban Johansson 33 400
Filip Holmqvist 17 000
Johan Storåkers 36 300
Ramzi Jelassi 73 200
Anders Hellström 46 500

See you all tomorrow, the day when we also launch the first blog freeroll and a Quiz!

25 players left in day 1b.. Pay out structure.

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

And we are playing on today’s last period, which means we have less then 60 minutes left of poker. Ramzi has managed to take another player out, this time he got a bit lucky when he called a semi shortstacked player with AJ, his opponent had AK, but if there is no king on the board and a jack shows up at the river, AJ is the better hand. So now he has about 55.000 in chips and if he can keep the roller coaster steady the last hour it will look good for tomorrows action.

18 players will get paid of the 50 that now still is in the tournament and here is how that payout structure will be (In Swedish crones just divide it by 10 and you get it in €):
1 691 000 SEK
2 473 000 SEK
3 320 000 SEK
4 205 000 SEK
5 166 000 SEK
6 133 000 SEK
7 105 000 SEK
8 79 000 SEK
9 56 000 SEK
10 41 000 SEK
11 41 000 SEK
12 38 000 SEK
13 38 000 SEK
14 36 000 SEK
15 36 000 SEK
16 33 000 SEK
17 33 000 SEK
18 33 000 SEK

Good luck Ramzi!
