Per Linde - 88th..

Per Linde - 88th..

A player raised to 5000 pre flop, and Per Linde went all-in on the button, Minieri on the big blind announces that he is also all-in! The original raiser shows and folds his AQ suited. Per turns over AQ and Dario Minieri has a big lead with his AK, especially as one Q already has been folded. It is a pot of about 125.000, but Per really needs help now. Time for the flop, it is a 6…K…7, and now Per pretty much is doomed, he needs two running cards and when the turn is a 7, Per has to leave his seat.

I am impressed by Per in this tournament, really played great poker, and if he would have had some “luck” in the important pots, for example when he had the chance to take out Dario Minieri who now instead took him out. Those are the pots you need to win to get to a final table in a big tournament. Anyway, Per is soon back in the starlight of poker, and then you all readers will be the first to know about it!

Per Linde, full of action..

Volvo vs Ferrari

Volvo vs Ferrari

The aggressive Italian Dario Minieri just sat down at Per Lindes table, that usually means that the table gives more action than it’s supposed to give, and that was also the case this time. Per Linde got into a pot where he was all-in pre flop with AKs against Darios 66, in a huge pot of 88.000, which would give Per a massive chip stack. Hopefully this was the time the Swedish Volvo could win a race against the Italian Ferrari. The flop looked promising as it contained two clubs, and Per had AK of clubs. Now it looked good, but the turn was nothing helpful, time for the river, we need a club, Ace or a King. It is another good card for Dario Minieri, who doubles through against Per. Down to 36.000

A few hands after this, Per gets all-in pre flop again with 1010, against the hand he just lost with, AKs. The flop is good for Per, the turn is dangerous as it gives his opponent a flush draw, and Per is in exactly the same position as Dario was a few hands before. This time it is fair and the river is good for Per and he wins his first coin flip for the day! The most important one..

Per now has 72.000 and I am sure that there soon will be more action as the blinds just has got up to 1000/2000 with an ante of 200, and 97 players remaining, 45 of those players will get into the money!

Nice pot for RedKings..

Friday, May 8th, 2009

Per was on the button and raised to 4000 (blinds 800/1600), SB folded, but the Finn in the Big Blind went all-in for 26.000, which gave Per another 22.000 to call. Per did call and showed A10 suited, his opponent turns over A9 and this time it is not a coin flip it’s a big lead. The flop comes out K23, and everything looks good. Turn 4. No 9 on the river and we have a big pot to Per, river 7! Per is now up to 85.000 with 102 players remaining..

How will this end?

Per Linde - Losing races..

Per Linde - Losing races..

The players is going out like flies in the beginning of day 2, we already have 20 players out after 45 minutes. Per has had the chance to take two out, first he had A9 when a short stack pushed all-in and Per decided to call and the short stack showed 55, it’s a race! In this race Per smashed his car, in other words he didn’t find an A or 9 on the board and here he had 55.000.

Then a small stack pushes from the button when Per has the Big Blind and it is only a few more thousand to call, and Per picked up 33 and a easy call. His opponent has 56s, and again it is a race, the flop is a 5 and no help for Per on the turn or river. Per really needs a new car..

He still has a stack over average, average is about 45.000 and Per has 52.000.

So time for another freeroll, $250 is what we are giving away for you readers, just because we like you. The tournament is called “RedKings Blog FR” and you fins it in the tournament lobby on the RedKings client! The password is: lasvegas

Day 2, Per Linde lonely King.. Quiz!

Per Linde - 70.500

Per Linde - 70.500

Team RedKings had 5 players entering the tournament yesterday, only one of them succeeded to go through to the second day together with 149 other players, but he really did it with class. A big stack of 70.500 is what Per starts the day with, and we are going to follow him closely and give you an update even when he takes of his shirt or yawn, maybe it doesn’t sound that interesting but believe me, it will be!

We will also do WPT Venice powered by bwin.com first Quiz and it is the easy and most obvious question:
How many chips will Per Linde end the day with? (0 is not a valid answer, if that would be the case there will be a draw between everybody that answered. You have to make the comment to this post with your answer and RedKings username!)

Also another freeroll tonight, the password you will find here soon!

Per Linde - AA Again.

Per Linde - AA Again.

First Per played a pot where a player raised from the button, and Per re-raised him on the SB, then the origianl raiser goes all in and he covers Per. Per goes into the tank and thinks for a long while before he folds, he probably had a decent hand and could have called. The Italian guy that was on the big blind is proud over folding his AJ, which for many players is a instafold. The hand after when Per has the button he raises, and now the Italian guy on the Big Blind re-raises to 6.000 and Per goes all-in, and gets called. Per shows his AA his opponent shows AJs, it is a huge pot, and if the board doesn’t show anything nasty we have a RedKings player with a big stack. The flop comes out J64, a bit worrying, turn is a 8 and he just need to dodge the two remaining Jacks on the river to double up. River 9! Per doubles up to 68.500.

As I wrote in my earlier post Shandon was shortstacked and when I got back to his table his seat was empty so if he didn’t bring his chips to the toilet, I am sad to say that Shandon has left the building. Good poker, but it was just not his day. Thanks for joining us here Shandon, and I hope we will see more from you!

So only one RedKings player left, and there is only 5 hands left of day 1b..

Go Go Per!

Chip and a chair..

Shandon Clarke - Shortstacked

Shandon Clarke - Shortstacked

Shandon Clarke first was down to 1.000 in chips but doubled first up with A8 vs 69, and then a few hands later with 22 vs AQ, now he actually has a chance to get a stack. He’s got 6.000 now, and if he can make a few more double ups he is back in the game. So far he has played good poker, just not had that last touch of luck and timing to keep the stack he had from the start.

Per is going good, has now changed table and is sitting with Martin Jacobsson and Jens Kyllönen, the winner of EPT Copenhagen.

Only 45 minutes to go of day 1b, and the field is shrinking, 78 players remaining..

Chip Counts:
Per Linde, 43.000
Shandon Clarke, 6.000

Finally some luck for Team RedKings..

Per Linde - Nice hand.

Per Linde - Nice hand.

Per Linde got dealt 77, and Per raised, and a player a few positions behind him re-raised, then the loose player at the table (who beat out Toni Ojala earlier) called, Now Per saw the value in making another raise as he felt that they were pretty weak and so he did, the player who raised per in the first place now went all-in, the loose player folded and Per called as he pretty much was committed to it. It didn’t look good pre-flop as his opponent had 10-10. None of the RedKings players has had any luck with the board earlier today so maybe there would be a change now. Flop x-x-7! Per hit his set and amazingly there was no 10 either on the turn or on the river! Per is up to about 36.000 in chips.

We have 87 players remaining of day 1b and an average chip stack of 32.000. 90 minutes left of day 1b.

Chip counts:
Per Linde - 37.000
Shandon Clarke - 16.000

Go Shandon and Per!

Bad period for our RedKings..

Jesper Höög - No luck

Jesper Höög - No luck

Jesper Höög was down to about 7.200 and had to do something, and here is what he did:
UTG raised to 900 and Jesper thought since the Big Blind was sit out that he will raise with a pretty big range of hands, so he found A9 suited and pushed all in. The original raiser called and showed pocket 10s. The first card on the flop is the A! Second card is a 10… And it was over, also Jesper hit the rail. His own comments about it was that he had been happy with his game today, just that he didn’t have any cards to make any moves with, and that the table he had been on all day was a tough table. Hopefully we will see more of Jesper soon!

Toni Ojala - Don't like snowmens..

Toni Ojala - Don't like snowmens..

Just when I had this chat with Jesper I get a phone call from Toni, and a poker player that phones you while they are still in the tournament is nothing that usually happens, this just leaves the worst. Toni had pocket 8s on a flop of 1032, and there was some betting and on the turn thee is a Queen. Toni gets all his chips into the pot and his opponent calls with Q3 and a two pair beats Tonis 8s. Also Toni left to the rail and just shortly after that straight to the bar, a bar that unfortunately is very red tonight.

Only two kings left now, Per Linde and Shandon Clarke! No luck so far, it’s time for some now!

Per Linde - 27.000
Shandon Clarke - 13.000

Doubble Up and down..

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Toni Ojala - Flying..

Toni Ojala - Flying..

Toni Ojala was very short stacked and had to do something about it, one player called the Big Blind, and Toni pushed for 3200, everybody folded until the last guy who called the big blind and he also made the call of Tonis bet. Toni showed A7 off suit, his opponent showed K6 of spades, time for the flop. A4J, and Toni was long ahead with his pair of aces but one of the cards was a spade, so hopefully no spade on the turn to kill the hand. The turn is 9 of spades, and you can see in Tonis face how much that card hurt him, the river….8 of HEARTS! Double up for Toni, now has about 7000.

Ramzi Jelassi was very active on his table, and was re stealing every second hand, it worked well and his stack was about 13.000 when he got dealt A5 and bet 1.000 pre flop, got re raised to 3.300. Ramzi felt that he was trying to steal from him because he had been so active lately, so he pushed all his stack into the middle. His opponent snap called with A7 and Ramzi needed some help from the flop. The flop showed x-x-5! Now Ramzi had the lead in this almost 30.000 big pot, no 7s and Ramzi wins. The turn is x. Only three sevens left in the deck, and the river is a….7! Again Ramzi has lost on the river. Ramzi is out, he played his aggressive style of poker, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. We all still like Ramzi, and he will soon be back, maybe already in a week for a tournament in Paris!

Chip Counts:
Toni Ojala, 7.000
Jesper Höög, 11.000
Per Linde, 30.000
Shandon Clarke, 7.000
