Ramzi on a rush..

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

We have played hand by hand for a few hands and these hands has been filled by action.

First Ramzi got everything in pre-flop with AK vs AQ in a pot worth 680.000. Finally the best hand held up, and Ramzi raked in the pot.

Ramzi is really using the bubble as a tool to boost his stack as just a few hands after that he re-raised one player with 97 and managed to get lucky and river an 8 for the straight.

Ramzi is over Christian Heich now with 800.000! One of the biggest chip stacks out there. Heich is still stable at around 720.000..

Looking good, and we are down to 650 players, only 2 more to go to the money..

658 players remaining..

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

And only 10 more players to go until we are in the money! The players justreturned from their first 20-minute break and now we are playing down to 653 players and then it’s time for hand-by-hand.

Ramzi has come back by again bluffing a nice pot, and is now on the average stack of 300.000.

Heich has 720.000 and still got more than double average.

We are playing with blinds of 2.500/5.000 and an ante of 500.

Soon bubble time!

Ramzi loses a bit..

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

We have played for one hour on day 4 and we have already lost 90 players today and we are down to 699, only 51 more to the money.

Ramzi has been a thief during this whole Main Event, stealing loads of pots. Today his thiefing hasn’t worked out the way he has wanted to, he has made a few raises and re-raises but many times got 3-betted, which made him to fold. He is “down” to around 200.000.

Christian Heich has about 660.000, without being involved in too many pots. He just made a very nice check down on the board J7J,6,7. His opponent had 66 and Heich had 1010 and kept the pot small.

The blinds is up to 2000/4000 with an ante of 500.

More to come…

Go Team RedKings!

Day three finishes..

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

And what a day it has been, we have had bad beats, cold decks, aggressive plays, lost and won coin flips but most of all we have had Christian Heich and Ramzi Jelassi!

Christian Heich - 735.500

Christian Heich - 735.500

Heich started the day early with boosting his stack up to the top and he ended it even better by taking him up to the unofficial top 10 ranking in chips. Taking out a lot of players, one of them the TV star Jason Alexander, having perfect timing and got the cards he needed has taken his chip stack up to 735.500 for day 4!

Ramzi Jelassi who until today hadn’t really had any coin flips during the whole tournament, he has only survived by stealing pots, this continued also today, he was involved in many pots and won most of them. Then that important coin flip came in the end of the day, and he won it, as a poker player would have said “one time!”. Ramzi ends the day on the brilliant chip stack of 417.000!

Tomorrow we will have approximately 800 players starting, and 648 of them will get a nice reward for these long day of poker that they all deserve, some more than others. It starts for you European readers at 21:00 CEST tonight, please all be with me then!

Other notable names that made it through to the 4th day is:
Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (Chip Leader)
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Ivey
Jesper Hougaard
Chris Ferguson

Ivo busts, Heich takes out a star and Ramzi action..

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

Let’s start with the bad news, Ivo found AK on the button when he had about 25.000 left. It is an easy shove for Ivo, and the small blind calls with 1010, everything is over already on the flop that shows 1087, giving his opponent the top set. Ivo leaves in 930th position.

Christian Heich was as you know on Jason Alexanders table, he had 56 on a flop of 346, Jason bet out and Christian shoved all-in, Mr. Constanza (Alexander) called with pocket Js, many outs for Christian and on the turn he finds the 6 giving him Three of a kind and a stack of 700.000!!

Ramzi Jelassi has also been in the action, the small blind raised when Ramzi was in the Big Blind. Ramzi had AK, and re-raised, the Small Blind then shoves all-in and Ramzi calls. The Small blind player shows JJ and it is a race! The flop doesn’t look very promising with Q22, but then he found the Ace on the turn and that held up on the river boosting Ramzis stack up to 380.000!

Nice run for Team RedKings right now, too bad that Ivo loses 6 coinflips oit of 6 today but now we have to big stacks to cheer for!

We have 864 players left and the average chip stack is up to 225.000..

Chip Counts..

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

No bigger action has been going on from that the players got back from dinner.

Ivo Donev won his first pot in 6 hours when he went all-in with QQ, and now a few all-ins after that. No one has called him yet and he really needs a double up with his stack of 40.000..

Christian Heich is up to 420.000 after being the captain on his table.

Ramzi Jelassi is down to about 150.000, but is still playing pretty actively so the swings will come..

999 players left, 648 of them gets money. The average stack is up to 195.000, and the price of poker is soon going up even more when the blinds will be 1500/3000 in 30 minutes…

Heich makes quads..

Christian Heich vs Jason Alexander..

Christian Heich vs Jason Alexander..

A player moved all-in for about 30.000, and Heich was next to act and quickly made the call. His opponent shows QQ, but Heich has KK. The flop brings us KJ8, and just to make it even better another K shows on turn giving Heich the 4 of a kind. Jason Alexander (George Constanza in Seinfeld) just says “Go to dinner! Go to dinner!” and laughs. Jason and Heich is now on the same table. Christian has 350.000 in the dinner break, even though he actually lost a huge pot in the beginning of last level..

Ramzi Jelassi is active as usual, raising many hands and winning many pots. In the dinner break he has about 190.000.

Ivo “The Chessmaster” Donev told me “Next level I will go all in, I promise you”. He has become so card dead and got blinded down to 47.000, so he needs a double up.

Now a 90 minutes dinner break, and then the players will go onto level 13 with blinds of 1200/2400 and an ante of 300. 1134 players remain…

No luck in the coinflips..

Friday, July 10th, 2009

WSOP Main Event has just gone in to the second break on day 3, about 1.450 players are still in there fighting for the enourmous prize pool. Here is what has happend the latest hour:

Ivo Donev was on the BB with AK, and the short stacked player one seat before the button opens the pot, and only has about 15.000 behind. Ivo with AK puts him all-in and his opponent doesn’t even think about folding, he calls with 89. Everything looks perfect until the river that is a 9.

A few hands after that Ivo has 33 on the big blind and the player on the button raises, he has about 35.000 behind and Ivo decides to put him all-in, and his opponent calls. Again everything looks good with a board of 2469, but then the river shows K. Ivo “The Chessmaster” Donev is now down to 115.000.

Christian Heich is a man of action. Here is a few hands he has played the latest level:
He had 200.000 in the beginning of this hand, some betting was going on pre-flop between :eich and another player with about 200.000, Heich had AK so he didn’t want to much money in pre flop. The flop is K54 and Christian checks, so does his opponent. Turn is a 2 and now Christian bets and gets called. River is a J, and before this card Christian put his opponent on JJ or QQ. Christian checks, and his opponent bets 40.000, after a while he calls and his opponent shows JJ. Down to 120.000.

Then on a flop of 445, Christian has 1010 and bets out 10.000, his opponent doesn’t believe him so he shoves for 65.000 and after a while Heich makes the call. His opponent has AJ and 1010 holds up. Up to 200.000 again.

Then we have something that goes to the WSOP history books. A 5-bet bluff pre-flop with K10, he felt weakness in his opponent (asian player) so he didn’t believe in the 4-bet he did and he was right his opponent folded.

Then Heich had J9 of spades and got a cheap flop from the BB and picked up a flush draw on a AK9 flop, on the turn he also got his flush and his opponent shoves for about 65.000 and Christian calls and his opponents AK is not good enough. 300.000 for Christian in the second break.

Ramzi Jelassi just got to change table and has been doing some usual Ramzi stealing and has a stack of about 140.000.

Go Team RedKings!

Toni gets a bad beat..

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Toni Ojala - AA not enough..

Toni Ojala - AA not enough..

Toni got dealt AA on the BB, one player in early position makes a mini-raise to 3.200, everybody folds and Toni raises to 12.000, opponent calls. Flop is 1097, Toni bets out 15.000, and his opponent calls once again, turn brings a Q and Toni pushes all-in for 35.000, opponent calls with KQ for top pair aand a gutshot straight draw. No J, Q, K on the river and Toni Ojala will get the double up he needs, the river is a J giving his opponent a straight and sending Toni to the rail..

After his great WSOP 2009, I really don’t think it is fair that it should end this way, he can’t play the hand bette than he does and those are the pots where you have to win to be able to get deep in this tournament. This time Toni didn’t win it, and his time in Vegas is over.

I would like to give a Standing Ovation for our Finnish star Toni Ojala. Well Played and we will see more from him soon!

Three players still in:
Christian Heich, 222.000
Ivo “The Chessmaster” Donev 168.000
Ramzi Jelassi, 113.000
