RedKings Pro Ramzi Jelassi takes down Midnight Sun

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

12 June 2010 – RedKings Poker Team pro Ramzi Jelassi showed his awesome live poker talent yesterday by winning the 2010 Helsinki Midnight Sun in Finland.

The 2850€ buy-in tournament drew a field of 139 players with Jelassi taking down an impressive 117000€ first prize.

This was Jelassi’s fourth money finish after winning the IPT San Remo in August last year. With two EPT money finishes and two wins in the last 11 months the star of Swedish poker is finally achieving the results so many poker people in the know have been expecting for some time now.

Determined to win the famous Gnome which goes to the Midnight Sun winner huge chip leader Jelassi made a deal in the final stages to be declared the winner of the Tournament. Commented Jelassi, “I have played the Midnight Sun and Helsinki Freezeout quite a few times now and being part Finnish I just wanted to go home with the Gnome this time . It cost me some money but it’s like winning a WSOP bracelet in this part of the world so it was very important to me”
Commented RedKings Poker Director Michael Golembo, “we are delighted for Ramzi for yet another fantastic win. He is such a great guy and as a poker player and ambassador for RedKings he is just outstanding. The whole of RedKings congratulates him and we all look forward to seeing him in action again soon. Live Poker, Ramzi Jelassi and Team RedKings are very important part of our online poker strategy which will become even more apparent when we announce our first major Live Tournament in the next few weeks.”

Team RedKings comprises Poker pros like Swedish Ramzi Jelassi and Finnish champion Toni Ojala, first time live poker tournament players chosen by RedKings and players who qualify through the huge number of Live Poker Events promoted online at RedKings. RedKings has tournament guarantees of over $16,000,000 each month and qualifiers for their online live poker event satellites start from as little as $2.00.

Being_Ramz..

yesterday I played alot of Omaha on RedKings and I had won up to 16k earlier in the day playing and was quite happy at that time. then I decided to play a little bit more before I went to bed because the action was so good, there were 4 tables 15-15 omaha running and the action was crazy, but I probably contributed most to the crazyness after all haha:) Well the sad part is that I ended stuck quite a bit for the day, that evening session didnt really go too well, I was a bit overly aggressive and tilty and that isnt really a good combination when you arent hitting any flops.

Today I was up quite early, at least early for me, had to wake up at 10 because I had scheduled to play tennis with some friends in Bromma. I have just started to play Tennis and I think its really fun, this was my 4th time playing and im getting alot better everytime. On friday om going to play with a friends dad whos is really good and he is going to coach me a little bit so that im going to crush my friends in a few weeks of practice :)

Now im going to see if there is any more action on RedKings for me today…oh what do you know, some finnish and french fishes in there just waiting for Being_RaMz to come and join them :P

Peace out

Ramzi gives us his 2009 story..

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Hello everyone!

Im sorry for not keeping you guys updated in the blog lately about what I have been doing. I know that you have read about me in the Team Redkings blog though so you know that we have been all over the place playing tournaments and what not. I came pretty close to another big score in EPT Copenhagen, but I didnt really make it all the way and finished at 19th place in that one.

I was in Australia for about a month in the beginning of the year after playing the Aussie Millions and I have to say that we had a really nice time down there. Im not much for the cold so being in the sun for a whole month and being able to go to the beach and stuff was great, of course we were very interested in the tennis as well :)

EPT Copenhagen was basically right after I came home from Sydney and I was really playing good and solid there, but you always need some extra luck to be able to win a big tournament like that and it didnt happen this time. I lost a big pot with ATs vs TT when I called an all in and after that I reraised all in for the rest of my chips with KQ and got called by 9Ts, the board came KQ99x and I was out in 19th place. After the Copenhagen week was over I took the train over to Lund in sweden where Jonas and some of my other friends live. Lund is a place that I like to visit once in a while since I have so many good friends that study in that town, and after Copenhagen I stayed there for about 10 days.

I have also been playing alot of onlinepoker at Redkings, I have been playing alot of PL omaha at 10-10 and 20-20 with varying success, but I must say that sometimes there are some big swings in that game.

The most resent trip I came back from is Dortmund, me and Jonas were down there to play the EPT. I got to say that I dont like much about Dortmund but that just made me want to focus more on playing my very best in the tournament. In the main event I was running pretty good in the first levels and had increased my stack to 18k even though I had a tough table with Peter Eastgate, Davidi Kitai and Jonas. It was looking pretty good, but after the dinner break I picked up AKs on a new table and a young guy raised to 800, I reraised to 2300, he made it 6500 and I decided to push all in for my 19,3k, he thought for a while and decided to call with kings so I was drawing pretty slim. The board didnt help me and the kid had me covered so I was sadly out.

Both me and Jonas played the 2k sidevent later the same week, I didnt have alot of luck and lost a big pot with 88 on a 99A8A board when the ace came on the riverand after that i was shortstacked and never got back from it. Jonas had more luck though as you may have red in the redkings blog and he finished 4th in that sidevent for 35k euro. Thats at least 3 finaltables between us so far since we started playing for RedKings :)

Right now im at home in Stockholm for a little while and I am going to play some tournaments here at the casino that are going to be good, the main event is a 25k kronor buy in, so hopefully I will do well in that. In the near future we will also have EPT San Remo and EPT Monte Carlo lurking and both of them are going to be crazy big so that is going to be fun :)

Hopefully you will read about me winning one of those big upcoming tournaments here soon.

Ramzi Jelassi - Getting ready for the Aussie Millions..

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Hello everybody! Alot of you guys already know me, but for those who dont here comes a little presentation about myself, enjoy!

My name is Ramzi Jelassi, born 1986 in a suburb to Stockholm, Sweden. I am half tunisian half swedish/Finnish, so its hell of a mix :) I used to play a lot of sports when I was younger and basically played soccer every day of my life from I was 6 until I was about 18. When I was 17 I started playing some poker for fun and it got more and more serious as time went by. When I was 18 I had already made alot of money from poker so it quickly became pretty obvious that I wanted to see how far I could go.

Here I am about 4 years later and I have been playing on the European live circuit regularly since I was about 19. During the years I have been playing live I have met and befriended alot of cool and interesting people and among them some of the best pokerplayers worldwide. In the end of 2008 I signed a one year contract with RedKings together with my good friend and fellow poker superstar Jonas Molander. So far I have nothing but good things to say about RedKings and we have done alot of fun things together and they have really taken good care of us and all my friends and fellow pokerplayers that play on RedKings.com.

To this day I have played a few livetournaments in my new RedKings clothes, for example Master Classics in Amsterdam, EPT Budapest, EPT Warzaw and EPT Prague. Unfortunately I havent had alot of luck in them, but I have managed to win a 2k sideevent in prague and Jonas got 4th in the same event and I have gotten 4th in the sidevent in Warzaw after getting unbelievably unlucky against a nice Italian man :)

Now there has been a smaller break in between all the livetournaments and I have been playing more online on RedKings instead, mostly 10-10 to 20-20 Omaha PL, and I am amazed on how fast the client works, but I also heard that they are working on a new software for the client that will be even better!

After getting a little bit pissed about the cold cold weather at home in Sweden I decided to go with my friends to Australia like we usually do in attempt to come looking for our old friend, the sun! We found it here in Melbourne were we are right now and we really are living like kings down here :) The people that know me know how much I travel, and how much I love seeing different places of the world and meeting different people, so right now I feel like im on top of the world. The sun is shining, we are eating extremely well, working out, watching the tennis and playing some poker.

The Aussie Millions Main event is starting here any day and of course RedKings paid for my buy in as usual and hopefully I can do even better than the 25th place I got last year!

Thats it for me this time, but I will be back with more blogs from time to time.
