Chipcounts at break

October 13th, 2011

94/345 players left

Average stack: 73,400

Blinds after the break: 1000/2000 ante 200

Zsolt: 192,000

James: 186,000

Andrey: 100,500

Veli-Pekka 113,000

So all four remaining Team RedKings players are over the 100k mark - and well above the average stack!

Huge hand for Zsolt just before break

October 13th, 2011

The players were leaving the tournament area to take their 15 minute break, but when we entered the room to take the counts, we saw there was still action in one table.

In the last hand before the break, on Zsolt´s big blind, the CO had moved in for 22,000 (at 800/1600), a Hungarian player on the button min-raise isolated to 45,000. Small blind folded and Zsolt moved in for 84,900. The button asked for a count and after doing the math and thinking for a moment, he kind of reluctantly made the call.

The hands were:

CO: A7s

BTN: AQo

Zsolt: JJ

So the hand was far from done. There was a 7 on the flop but no aces or queens, and Zsolt´s hand held in a huge pot that put him up to 192,000

Andrey owning

October 13th, 2011

We missed the preflop, but Andrey had called in position and his opponent led 5,5k on 2h 8d 2d. Andrey made a pretty quick call, and after the turn brought 8h, Andrey took a bit more time to call a 7,6k bet.

River was a blank 9c, and the villain checked to Andrey. Andrey thought for a second before firing 12,5k into what was at least 30k pot. The villain instafolded and Andrey showed QJ off-suit (but no emotions).

We have four players left, both Zsolt (now seated in same table with James) and Veli-Pekka also have well above average stacks.

James knocks out - 101 players left

October 13th, 2011

A short stack open shoved 23k from the cut-off, and James made the obvious call on the button with aces. The blinds folded and as the board didn´t hel the cut-off´s KdJd we are now down 101 players.

James is still among the biggest stacks, we´ll try to get a proper count  during the dinner break.

Miikka Anttonen out

October 13th, 2011

Miikka Anttonen, who folded heroicly for hours today with his short stack, seems to be knocked out. No details. Good luck to Miikka in the German championship in Czech this weekend!

Chipcounts at break

About an hour ago:

Miikka 15,5k

James ~145k

Andrey ~35k

Veli-Pekka 129,9k

Zsolt ~68k

Martin is out, we didn´t see him go so no details.

Since this count Miikka has doubled up K4>QQ

Pekka is out

October 13th, 2011

These events took place like 90 minutes ago, but anyways:

Pekka “I´m out, tens against ace-king”
Reporter: Shit, really? Have you ever won a flip in GSOP Live event?”
Pekka “Well yesterday I won KQ against AQ”
Reporter: “Not a flip, doesn´t count”
Pekka: “Yea I guess so. Well at least the weather is still good for some out-door activities. And I´ve heard the cash games are good at the casino..”

Pekka told us he will come to Prague too, hopefully it´ll be the time cash-out some of those Sklansky dollars he has in safe.

Sorry we have been offline

October 13th, 2011

Apologies for the down-time, we will try to get back real-time as soon as possible.

Short news

October 13th, 2011

Some random comments/observations from the room:

- Martin and James seem to be in a pot together everytime we walk past - no big pots though

- Miikka “I´m super short, get no cards, and everyhand is five ways before it gets to me so not much to do.”

- Pekka: “Need to double up. Picked some chips with some raises but nothing of significance.”

Tables of interest

October 13th, 2011

Team RedKings Qualifiers Pekka Ikonen and Zsolt Vizsnyiczai were seated next to each other the most of yesterday, the latter having the position. For Day 2 the roles were reversed, Pekka now having the position. Two to Pekka´s left is our remaining Russian Team RedKings player Andrey Shatilov.

In a nearby table the first Czech Team RedKings GSOP Live Qualifier Martin Simak is sitting two to the left of Team Pro James Keys.
