Well I made this post after the first day in the promotions thread as it seemed the most appropriate category at the time.
Well as a qualifying player I was shocked to see the first ‘week’ was only 5 days long so set to ‘work’ as soon as I received the email. After about 5 hours play another crisis. Playing 2 tables and got disconnected. On trying to log back in received a message ‘Your account is blocked. Please contact support’. Lost about an hours play but finally got back in.
First days play was far from great, finished about $20 down. Had AQ run into KK twice, each time a Q high flop encouraged me to put more chips in the pot. An AK gave me a great flop of KK3 (2 clubs) and yes someone called my raises till they hit the flush on the river.
Best 2 hands of the day…33 turned into a nicely disguised full house and A 10 hit a 10 high flop which turned into trips on the river. It’s now 5 am here in Britain so of for some zzzzz. Reckon I got about 80pp so must try harder tomorrow (later today).

It’s now day 5 and typing this through bleary eyes lol.
In order to preserve the bankroll I initially started playing 2 tables of NLHE at 15/30c level. I soon realised the rakes were too slow in coming so part way through day 1 moved up to 25/50c. As posted above it wasnt a good start and ended $20 down.
Days 2 and 3 were even worse and doubts were creeping in as I went $150 down. I decided to change stategy and switched to $1/2 limit tables despite never having played this 5 handed before. A bit of a learning curve to adapt my style but must have got something right as I recovered slightly to ‘only’ $100 down. I believe I’ve just passed the 500pp for the 5 days and hoping I have ‘worked’ hard enough to be given a second week.
I was hoping to compare my performance with the other 9 ‘trainees’ but fail to see any comments (did they get lost on the way to work).

I played too hard first week. With new software I cant play on my old PC more than 4 tables. My bankroll only for $2.2 sng, therefore I must been moved up to $5.5 and $10 sng with risk loose all my money. I mixed this limits last 3 days and earned 500 points. My bankroll grown(+$66) and I wait second week.

So, I qualified for the Summer Job Promo.
If I make 500 player points per week in the next four weeks I will get paid $250.
Sounds suspiciously like a 8pp/$ bonus. Eight player points per dollar: generous but not unique.
Also I am staked a couple of hundred dollars. If I win, I’ll have to pay it back. If I lose, I won’t.
I may use this stake to take a little more risk than usual. We’ll see.
Ok, off we go. Best of luck everybody.

The above was written on juli 10.
I am not a cash game player so to make 500 points the first week I played a lot and I mean a lot of Sit ‘n Go’s. Fortunately there were some winning streaks. I have increased my bankroll by $293.50. No change of plan for the second week, things are going ok.

And so into week 2…
Decided to stick with my initiation into short handed limit games. Started at $1/$2. After about 2 hours was roughly level and decided to move up to $2/$4 and try my luck. Had some ups and downs but finished the day $50 to the good. I was also surprised to see I had accumulated 250pp, not bad for the first day.
I’m mainly a tournament player and have a lot of games scheduled for the weekend so may leave it until Monday to get back to ‘work’.

Despite having some issues with my account details not updating I persevered at the $2/$4 limit tables. As far as I know I have achieved the 500 player point target for the week. I’m reasonably sure I’ve shown a profit on the week of $70. Not brilliant but an improvement on the first week.

Week 3 not going well…major issues with the site !!!!
Week 3 funds went into my account on Friday but did not receive the expected email informing that week 3 had started so did not realise this until late Sunday night.
Started ‘work’ about 19.00 bst on Monday. Played for about 2 hours then a site issue meant that no-one could bring chips to any ring game. As the table I was at had collapsed I was unable to join any game. Then…great…I see players registering at ring games again. Unfortunately when I sat at a $2/$4 table I received a message saying that I needed at least $40 to play at this table. Checked my account…only $34 showing…should have been around $400.
It’s now late Tuesday evening and still no funds. Support have informed me that the funds will be reinstated within 24-48 hours. I also don’t know the deadline for week 3 but my guess is that I will be virtually out of time before my funds are returned. I will obviously request an extension to the time once my funds are back.
