James takes a big hit - can´t win every flip

Friday, August 5th, 2011

The preflop action is unclear preflop, but eventually James Keys and Tomasz Klaczynski got the chips in and were off to a race in a 780k pot.

James held AJ and Tomasz 55.

Flop: 8A2 and James took the lead

Turn was meaningless 6 and Tomasz needed a 5 to stay in the tournament - and got it.

James is down to approximately average stack, and Tomasz is now the chipleadder or at least close.

Another big one for Zsolt

Friday, August 5th, 2011

We missed the action and potsize - it was all splashed around when we arrived - but Zsolt Vizsnyiczai just knocked out an opponent AQ against KQ. We´ll do our best to get an approximate count as soon as possibel.

At the same time the oldest player in the field and a perfect gentleman Phillip Peters, 71, was knocked out A4 vs AQ and we are down to 13 players. Peters lost most of his chips a bit earlier when his A9 didn´t hold against J9 of Ole Remi Hausner.

Big pot for Zsolt!

Friday, August 5th, 2011

Zsolt just doubled up to 750k:

Steffen Nielsen opened in early position, and it was folded to Zsolt. He made it 48 to go on the button and Nielsen made the call.

Flop came down QJ7 rainbow and Nielsen checked. Zsolt bet 58 only to get reraised by Nielsen to 130k. Zsolt didn´t hesitate to move all-in for ~300 total and Nielsen instacalled.

Zsolt held aces and was in great shape against Nielsen´s AQ. River and turn blanked and Nielsen is left with 50k while Zsolt is in great shape to make improve his GSOP Live Seville 12th place finish

James takes down another player

Friday, August 5th, 2011

There was an early position raise from a big stack and Danny Hernon moved in for about 65k from the cutoff. James reshoved from the big blind and after a short tank the EP raiser folded.

James QQ

Danny Hernon A8o

Board came down 69T 4 4 and James scoops the pot while Danny headed towards the rail.

“James, you would have been in trouble had we seen the flop. I had pocket nines” commented the EP opener who had folded to the reshove.

15 players left.

Andis makes a good call

Friday, August 5th, 2011

Andis opened in early position and got raised to 48k from the blinds.

Flop came 5c 4c 2d and the blind lead all-in for almost full pot. Andis thought for a moment and made the call with 66. He was against AK and calmly watched as the dealer ran blanks on turn and river.

Andis now has about 400k.

17 players left

Friday, August 5th, 2011

17 players left, avg 300k

Andis picked up some chips with a shove, no call.

After the table break James now has position to Norway´s Ole Remi Hauser who is one of the bigger stacks too.

To go deep in a tournament…

Friday, August 5th, 2011

….You have to occasionally run good:

James, who has a really active image, opened btn to 12k and Markus Herbel made it 33k in the small blind. James 4-bet Herbel all-in and he made the call with AcKc. James held KsQs so he wasn´t exactly in good shape, but managed to spike a Q on the river and is now the chipleader again with 650-700k

Huge one for Zsolt!

Friday, August 5th, 2011

Once again the day has started fast, in the first 15 minutes we have lost 5 players. Zsolt was responsible for knocking out one of them in a sweat for a huge pot:

Early position short stack showed 48k preflop, and small blind made the call before Zsolt pushed around 135k in from the big blind. The small blind tanked for long before making the call based on odds. They had:

EP opener A5 offsuit

Small blind 44

Zsolt 99

Zsolt had to dodge 5 outs to take down over 300k pot, including a two-outer that would end his tournament. The board ran safe and Zsolt is now one of the bigger stacks!

It´s still not a simple walk in the park for the Team though. We missed the hand going down but heard Andis just took a hit after he called a short stack all-in, but the shorty´s 66 ran a straight to beat Andis´s pair of tens.
