Down to 27 players

Janne and Toni seem to be taking it easy at the moment, so most of our updates are on Koen. He just lost major pot against the guy on his right. We don´t know what Koen had but his opponent had AA and the board came KQTJK

“I am in big trouble…”

“…I was shortstacked for a while I didn´t have to think at all, just relaxing and throwing away the band hands. Now I have an above average stack again and I have to think. What am I going to do?”

Koen doubles!

Friday, October 8th, 2010

Koen who had lost a huge chunk of chips to Janne with J5 against J2 has just doubled up to almost 200000 chips. The dutchman was really happy on the break after he made the money (apparently the partying last night was expensive) and was hoping to double up to get a playable stack again, has just doubled.

UTG+1 pushed all-in and Koen had AK in the SB. Easy call and the board ran AKTxx to and Koen is smiling wide.

The hand againts Janne is also interesting: it was folded to Koen in SB, he limped and Janne raised.

Flop 225 Koen check-calls, turn 2 check check and on a river 4 Koen check calls. Janne has J2, Koen J5. Standard?

IN THE MONEY!

Friday, October 8th, 2010

The bubble has just burst and Janne, Toni, Koen and Matias all made it in the money! The first payout is €2162

We will have a break in few minutes so we will try to meet our guys for few comments.

Major pot for Janne!

Friday, October 8th, 2010

We are down to 42 players with 39 making the money. All our players are still in the same table and now it was Janne´s turn to act UTG. He raised to 10500 with about 75000 behind. Toni folded next to him but the next player raised to 30000. It folded around to Janne who quickly moved all in.

His opponent asked for a count and had to call with the odds he was getting. He had AJo so Janne had to dodge the ace to survive. The table and reporters around held their breath while the dealer dealt a table of blanks to ship the over 170,000 pot Janne´s way.

Janne was all in with kings on Day 1, and that time he seemed  really nervous. Now he just held his breath but when the pot was shipped we heard some silent ugly words about how terrifying that was.

Counts at 1500/3000

Friday, October 8th, 2010

Toni 220k

Koen 110k (lost a biggish pot calling the villains river bet: “I made the right read but the wrong move, I wonder why I did something like that?”

Janne 55k: “I bluffed and the villain made a pretty good call”

Matias ~40k

Toni doing well

Friday, October 8th, 2010

We just saw Toni play a big pot where he fired all three streets in position putting his opponent all-in on the river. Eventually the villain decided to hold on to his tournament life and made the laydown. Toni up to 220k, which is approx. twice the average.

Matias doubles up

Friday, October 8th, 2010

It was folded to the small blind who opened and Matias found his first ace in a while in the big blind and moved in for ~10bbs. The SB had QQ but this time the river was favourable for our player, bringing the much needed case ace.

Chipcounts at the break

Friday, October 8th, 2010

Unfortunately Yevgeniy was busted TT<JJ so our russian speaking team is now out. All the guys seemed to enjoy the event, so we will be seeing them in Riga and Budapest too and knowing the level they play we will see some of them going deeper in future.

Matias has around 30000, looking for a spot to push.

Toni won ~30000 in a preflop all-in 55>KK and took a few medium sized pots from a pretty good Swedish opponent sittin close to him. Up to 190000.

Janne had no stories to tell, but is sitting with a comfortable ~130000 stack.

Koen around 140000

Blinds going up now, 1200/2400 ante 300
